Best comic reader I've found
I've used several over the years. What I like best about this is how easy it is to read a page, even with just one hand. (I forget the setting that makes this possible, but it's terrific).
It syncs easily with iCloud but also has an optional Web server feature.@justbj
Still The Best
Chunky makes me wish I could transfer my non-DRM titles from Dark Horse and Comixology over. While the guided view in those apps I always sort of liked - I prefer to see the whole panel not panels that are cut off - Chunky gives me so many options that I am in Comic viewer bliss now. I was having issues with displaying my PDFs on iBooks, contacted Image Comics about it and was recommended this reader. Now that Comixology allows me to download Image Comics and certain independent titles as PDFs I have been busy transferring them over to Chunky. Along with the others who have reviewed this app, I can not recommend this app enough. Very, very highly recommended.
Update: Not only is this simply the best comic reader by far I have now found a new use for this app, as a digital magazine reader. I bought a digital issue and now am able to use all the functions of Chunky to view the pages the way I want to view them versus fighting the app, Zinio is the guilty app. I now highly recommend Chunky for digital magazine viewing as well.Show lessEdeTM
Super easy and many options
I can't go on enough about how much I love this app. Importing comics is easy, several options are available, I like the web sever (Pro version) the best since I can keep comics external till I want to read them. Being able to zoom and change the brightness without going into a menu is great. The auto group function is nice, saves a little time.
All in all, I haven't found any issues, purchased the Pro version for the embedded web server and to reward the author. Keep it up!Show lessAkivaran
Best comic reader. Notes for manga readers.
This app has everything you'd want from a comic reader including organization of comics and gestures making digital reading more intuitive.
My only grip is the double tab to zoom feature is odd, it keeps zooming/cropping and i wish it was like every other comic reader or at least an option to get back to the original zoom(i sometimes want to read a bubble -so i double tap to zoom-and then want to get back to my original zoom instead of zooming when double tapping again).
*Notes for manga readers: if you want to read manga and comics on this app you can't mark a comic as manga you'd have to switch reading ditection everytime you switch between a manga and a comic.

Good, but there is room for improvement
Once I lost the ability to use ComicRack, I searched for an app that could come close. Based upon reviews and limited use, Chunky stood out as the likely replacement. Since I use an iPad Pro and like to travel with a large number of comics stored, I was happy that Chunky did a nice job displaying the comics that I loaded. I even went as far as buying the full version, even though functionally that was not necessary as the free features were adequate.
Pros: Excellent clarity, Auto-sorting, Cloud Access, Reads all formats,
Cons: Lags when a large collection is loaded, Auto-sort could be better as the grouping vs series is not 100%, No options to change view, e.g. tiled so as to fit more on the screen, No folder synchronizationShow lessWaltNes3
Excellent reader
Been looking for a Comicrack replacement since that app won’t be updated anytime soon. Chunky Pro is a very good replacement so far. I use this app nightly and have not had any crashes or other problems. Loading books is a real pain. There are plenty of options, with the google drive option being the only workable one for me. I would love to see an easier loading process and list division in the future, but this is by far the best available reader right now.Show lessTwenty nicknames later
Best comic book reader on iOS
I’ve tried a number of the comic book reader apps for iOS and finally settled on Chunky. It has a responsive developer (answered a question I had, within a day), and a good feature set of bot basic and more advanced options. The interface is good and doesn’t get in the way of viewing your comics.Kleinias
I love Chunky!
It’s a great app for reading comics. Unfortunately the Dropbox feature stopped working a couple of days ago. My Dropbox app itself works but I get an error message now trying to download through Chunky.

Fantastic comic reader
Bookman was my favourite comic book reader on the iPad. The developer never updated it to 64 bit so it became unusable with iOS 11. I spent hours trialing free comic book readers and all had annoyances in one form or another. I finally came across Chunky. I've only been using it a few days, and I can't fault it. It's clean, ad free and allows tilt zooming. I like the grouping feature to organise my comics with.Show lessAM for PM
Pretty good
Great reader but I'm not happy about it dimming covers of read comics. Also the screen layout of the library wastes a lot of realestate if you have many one-offs. Single undimmed cover icons for collections arranged in a grid would make this a five star app.Rick_B26354
