  • Cannot subsequently connect to TV

I downloaded this app and even paid almost $10 for it to remove ads. In the first instance, it does show PIN on the TV and can connect to Samsung TV. In just about a week or so, for no rhyme or reason, it stops recognizing the TV. In an attempt to reconnect, it keeps flashing pin on the TV and the pin entry dialog box on the app keeps appearing and disappearing before I can even enter, any one of the pin numbers being repeatedly shown on TV. I then uninstalled the app, reinstalled it. In the first Instance, it did handshake with the TV, but then again, after a week or so it kept flashing pin on the TV with the pin dialog box on the app of appearing and disappearing again and again. frustrated, I uninstall the app and send an email to the developer for money refund. No one has responded to me. I shall now take the issue up directly with Apple. Poorly designed app, not worth it.

  • Unbelievable deceit and greed

I downloaded this app in 2020, paid the one time payment to permanently remove ad, and everything seemed to work smoothly. 2021, for security reasons, I had to create a new iCloud account, downloaded the app again, and just as the first time, I paid to remove ads permanently. 2023, I try to use the app, and I see back to ads. Oh no big deal, I think, let me just restore my purchase. Ok, nothing seems to be out of order, at first, then as I try to connnect the app to my tv, I caught drift of how they essentially will screw over people who had made the one time payment. So I see in these reviews they keep saying “hi, just restore purchase” but that’s just their way of mediating their duplicitous nature and appearing to honor the deal with the customers who have paid that one time fee. But that is as far as the honor it. Just telling you to restore it, but that doesn’t do anything. Sure the ads are removed, but lacks functionality. When trying to connect, you won’t be able to. It will suggest you download their “universal control app” every time you try to connect. Even Samsung devices this message will appear and will only take you to the App Store to download it, or dismiss the pop up message to remain disconnected. This universe app, of course, is subscription based. No one time payment. No honor. Just scummy vultures fueled by greed, avoiding to take accountability for the actions derived from their undeniable greed. Unbelievable.

  • Way to many adds!

This free version of the remote works great even with the extreme amount of adds. I noticed a handful of one star reviews for the only reason being “to many Adds” If your to cheap to spend a few bucks for the add free experience don’t rate the app poorly because of it. The developers have to get paid just like any body else they are not doing Charity work so that you can have an awesome remote for your 65” $4k TV! I am a free user so I wait for the short 1s-7s add you don’t even have to watch the whole add you can click skip! This is the only remote that works Fully with my Samsung I’ve tried others but always come back to this one. It’s easy to connect click find your tv then click enter bottom with keyboard on your tv and it works. The paid version is hands down worth it because you get the add free experience lol but you get the cool keyboard typing option so you don’t have to click and arrow to each letter when searching. And it’s easier to turn tv off and on you don’t have to click find my tv every time you turn your tv off for a minute. This is my longest review of a free app ever I was just to appalled by the one star reviews because of adds. So many people expect so much for north it’s crazy thanks for making a free version available

  • BACK TO BEING GREAT!!

UPDATE: The developer reached out to me and instructed me on how to remove the ads / pop ups. It appears that the app is back to being a 5 star app!! Thank you for the great customer service!!

I purchased this app for a flat fee a couple of years ago, and it worked great! Now with the updates, they changed it into a ridiculous, expensive subscription! It is almost impossible to use with all the pop-up ads now. You would think I would’ve been grandfathered into the subscription since I paid a flat fee when the developer first created the app. So much for taking care of their original customers.

    Developer Response

Hi, to remove ads and get your premium mode back. Just click on the "restore" button located at the top left on the premium screen, or you can also find it in the settings screen of the app. If you need any assistance with this process, don't hesitate to reach out to me directly at contact@nstx.io. I'll be more than happy to guide you through it.
  • OK I want to update my review

I remember paying for this app well over I think it was 4 years ago and the price was around 14 bucks and now they switch to a subscription base with ads? the app itself barely works anymore and this is what they do to folks who payed? If you have a Samsung TV, just use the official Samsung app is app is ridiculous now.

It’s better now because I received a message from the developers and they told me all I have to do is to restore purchase, so if anyone’s viewing this review, disregard the first paragraph and read this one, if you are a person who bought this app years ago and it’s showing you some subscription purchases, All you have to do is go to the settings and click on restore purchase.

Hi I recommend that you restore your purchase directly from the app on the paywall to solve your problem. If your problem is still not solved, you can contact me directly from the app.
  • It works every time but there are ads

You have to “scan” for your TV pretty much each time you use it. Once it finds your TV (IP address), you select your TV and the app allows you to control your TV. HOWEVER, an ad pops up after tapping a button (volume, channel, etc.) about 5 times. There is a way around this though; e.g. tapping and holding the volume button turns up the volume without an ad popping up.

  • Borderline unusable — just buy a remote

As a remote this app is functional — if you can handle pressing one button every 7-10 seconds in between pop up ads. From turning on my TV to opening Netflix, I saw the same advertisement six separate times. It pops up and the “close ad” button moves around the screen to make it difficult to consistently press. Additionally, the app forces you to watch the advertisement for 5-10 seconds before allowing you to skip.

The developer has succeeded in prompting me to finally buy a new remote. Thank you. I don’t know why these companies decided to advertise on this aggravating app — it’s one of those situations where you swear to never buy their products out of spite. As I think of it, this is the first review I’ve written in forever — and the only reason is because this app has irritated me to such an extent.

  • Stop complaining if you are using for free weirdos

So far the people I’ve seen that complains are the ones that have ads running. If you are using for free, deal with it. $8 is nothing for a permanent wifi remote you essentially never have to replace. No annoying batteries. Although the wifi connection does “reset” sometimes and if you’ve lost your remote you can simply use your tv button to press yes when pairing is required. I’ve had this for 6 years and it’s always been my best friend when i can’t find my remote.

  • WAYYYYY TOO MANY ADS

I literally downloaded this because it got great reviews and occasionally I can’t find my remote. Functionality is excellent of this app, but I’m about to delete it off my phone quicker than I downloaded it. I understand the occasional ad, but this app is EXCESSIVE. It took me so long to get to my Netflix account because I got there and an ad popped up, ok fine. Ad over, I hit the arrow over because my account is the 4th one on the screen, I hit it one over and another ad, then I go over another one, another ad, it literally popped an ad for each account as I scrolled over. Then I get into my account and I tried to scroll through to find something to watch… Again, each time I moved the arrow one space, an ad popped, and another and another. So in other words unless you want to see an add literally every time you push a button on this remote, don’t download this.
