VPN needs to be OFF
I was having a heckuva time connecting point to point using this app. After doing a firmware upgrade to the latest, I discovered that the VPN on my iPhone needs to be turned completely off, as well as the “VPN on demand“ feature (it’s under VPN settings). Once I did this, the app worked fine. I could then get the grill into Wi-Fi mode, I don’t use point to point unless I’m out on the road and not on my home network

Profiles don’t work
After the latest update, the profiles stopped working properly. If you turn on a profile, it skips the first step saying it is complete. After using the grill and app for many years I have many custom profiles and now I can’t use them. Very disappointing that the quality of the app development has degraded to barely usable.

Another Update, Another Screwup
These morons have updated the firmware they paid a third grader to write and didn’t bother to let anyone know. You don’t discover this until you’re grilling and discover the grill isn’t in server mode. They let you know about updating the firmware when you try to put the already running grill into server mode which, of course, you cannot as you’re not about to stop smoking.
This app should have notified users of this when you connect to the grill. They also could have simply pushed a notification. The app requires every perverse permission under the sun, somehow including location (for a grill! to sell to China?), so they can certainly send a notification.

I wish I would have bought a different grill
Terrible app. Grill is poor quality. Should have went with pit boss or trager
App crashes instantly
App has worked decently well previously. Trying it now it crashes instantly after opening, please fix ASAP!
Keeps disconnecting
When I can connect to my grill, it’s great but you better not move around much because if it happens to disconnect, it won’t reconnect. If you happen to answer a call on your phone, reconnection is a maybe.
I’ve had our local grill store (where I purchased it) come out and replace the board and it worked for a while, then back to can’t locate on our WiFi.
As much as it cost, you would think Green Mountain could come up with something better.

Broken
The app used to work, stopped working a couple months ago and keeps crashing I expected a fix by now. Not impressed!
App is back working!
Now that the app is working again and my grill is updated, all is well! (Although it didn’t work last time to tried, deleting and reinstalling the app seems to have finally resolved the crashing issues)

Customer service
These guys have the best customer service I have ever seen in my life, weather it’s will the grill it’s self or with the software or with the app there always so quick to respond and they go above and beyond to help you get whatever needs to get done. I would recommend green mountain grills 10-10 times not only with the customer service but the actual grill it’s self really really great product!!!!!!!
