App used to work

Now I can only view the robot. I can’t change the mode or anything, the app used to work great. $2000 pool cleaner with a crappy app.

Active 30i

So far the app hasn’t worked other than to sync and tell me it’s in a no mode cleaning mode. I can’t change cycles or manually steer it. For the extra $$$ to get the one with these features it’s not worth it. The cleaner itself is great! I should have got the active 20 and saved some money.

Great cleaner, updated review of the app

My Dolphin M400 is an excellent pool cleaner in automatic mode. Most of the time that’s all you need. The app gives additional functionality including manual control of the robot if you want to focus on a section of the pool needing more cleaning attention. However the app stopped working this year repeatedly asking for the serial number of the robot but not resolving when entered. Last year my robot needed servicing under warranty and it was successfully repaired. My pool supply vendors who are an authorized repair facility repair the devices but were not able help with the app issue. It took a little while to engage Maytronics support but once involved we went through several troubleshooting procedures. Ultimately they had to re-sync the power supply with the previously replaced robot motor by a configuration at their end and then the app immediately began working again. Now working again I have all features functional with this robot along with its superb cleaning abilities. I thank Alejandro from customer service who assisted me and created a positive experience from a frustrating issue that could only be resolved with their assistance.

Great pool cleaner but crummy app...

The cleaner works great! The app not so much. The ‘manual’ drive doesn’t work after just one season and now my app won’t even connect via Bluetooth. Very frustrating! Needs bug fixes ASAP.

Bluetooth connection is random

I have had my S300i for two seasons now and while the robot works flawlessly (aside from occasionally getting stuck on the drain cover), the App leaves a lot to be desired. Aside from the design of the interface (which could use a engineer with good user experience and UI skills to upgrade), the Bluetooth connection is flakey. By flakey I mean some days it will connect as soon as I launch the App and then other days I have to literally unplug the robot from the power supply and unplug the power supply from the wall, DELETE the MyDolphin App (iPhone 7+ running iOS12), reinstall the app, plug everything back together and then hope the little Bluetooth light comes on when I launch the App.

Come on Maytronics, it shouldn’t be like this! You guys need to do better as the App is seen widely by many folks as useless. I write extensively over at the Trouble Free Pools web forum and, while the Dolphin robots are well regarded, the App is routinely panned as a “useless feature”. You guys need to invest much more time and resources into making the app both functional and user friendly. You’re really dropping the ball here and other robot makers are going to capitalize on this failure.

Wish I bought a robot earlier . . . App is lacklustre

The pool cleaner itself is awesome. This app doesn't really offer much. It doesn't even give you a timer on how much longer the robot will be cleaning the pool which would be nice . . . even some basic info on the cycle currently running. It just feels like its built just so they can say they have an app. Manually driving the robot gets old quick so I don't have much use for this app at this point.

The MyDolphin application supplied with the Dolphin robots has two versions, depending on the Dolphin model: 1)Basic version, that contains Manual Drive, plus Info/Links to guides. 2)Full version, that contains 5x different cleaning modes, 3x Cycle time options, Weekly Timer, Delayed Operation, and Info/Links. You are welcome to send an email to Dolphin.app@maytronics.com indicating the serial number of your Dolphin robot, and we shall answer with the application version that your robot model is equipped with. Verify: 1) iPhone operating system version iOS 8.0 or later 2) Cellular network connection 3G / 4G, or WI-FI, signal strength at least 60%. 3) Bluetooth® - ON. 4) Uninstall APP than reinstall. If the problem persists, email to Dolphin.app@maytronics.com indicating the serial number of the robot. Maytronics
