Missing a few features that Foursquare Had
It’s ok for tracking where you went, but it’s missing the useful search feature that Foursquare had to search for things like restaurant locations and menu, or things to do and so on.
Are you my new Google Maps Timelime?
Leaving at 4 stars until I know more. I was using Timeline to track my time use as I’m super forgetful, but my business depends on my tracking my time accurately.
Timeline went in a different direction and I can’t access my history in desktop. Enter Swarm. I have high hopes that the tracking accuracy or at least ease will come through. Let’s find out if it gets those extra 2 stars.
PS. Dear Foursquare Labs, please check out the uproar on Reddit and ycombinator and GitHub around Google maps timeline changes. We are willing to pay for a clean solution.

Love this app still 10+ years later
I love the history aspect of this app. I’ve been using it for over 10+ years now faithfully. I came over when it was just one app, Foursquare. Before this, I was using Loopt, which didn’t make it. I wish I started out using this app first. I missed some great years and great check-ins I couldn’t merge into this one. But Swarm has been very useful. I’ve even mentioned when I got pulled over one night randomly going home when the police officer asked me where am I coming from. I just said I just left dinner and showed him the app. He asked do I log everything. I said yes. Because of random situations like this. I’m where I’m supposed to be. Plus I like it. The pics aspect. Etc. I wish it could integrate into the journal app or vice versa. Not sure how that would be done. But it’s great. I miss the watch functionality of adding badges and being able to talk to add to it. But maybe that wasn’t utilized enough by everyone. But I hope this app never goes away.

I Heart Swarm
I’ve had Swarm since the 4th quarter of 2012. They say it’s a niche hobby when you google it. I can agree. I wish I had started off with Foursquare/Swarm. I came over from Loopt after that went down. I wish I could’ve combined my history for all the time I put into Loopt back in the day, but I still use Swarm faithfully. It’s the last app that’s from the era of the iPhone 4 and when Path was a dominate app before its untimely demise and we are left with just Facebook. Swarm I started using because I quote unquote fit the description of someone who was at the scene of a crime. But thanks to Geotagging in Apple photos and me using Swarm besides just loving to use it and connect with a small group of friends I trust in an era where rappers share their location & something bad happens. I can feel safe only sharing my location with those I trust. Showing pictures. And logging my life. Looking back each month and each year. I wish there was an iPad app sometimes, but you can download the iPhone version onto your iPad. They took away the ability to type a message with checking in via your Apple Watch or even adding a sticker. But it’s good to have when your phone dies. I’m not going to stop using swarm unless it’s no more. And I hope it’s not. And if it ever is. I hope I can download my entire history in an archive of this app to always review.

Just fix it
you still haven’t re-added the feature that shows up when you click on the top corner where it shows a list of missed check-in’s, please just fix it and so what if I said chickens instead of check ins, you’re not five so you knew what I meant
Can’t delete account in-app
Won’t let you to delete your account in the app. Forces you to go to the website, login, then delete
No longer useable
I’ve been a user and fan of swarm and Foursquare for many years. However, after having “find friends” block all my friends’ checkins and photos, I deleted and reinstalled the app. Now there’s a screen asking me to “agree” to swarm using my data, but the button is below the bottom of the screen! Not scrollable, text size makes no difference. So I can no longer use the app at all.
