No longer useable
I’ve been a user and fan of swarm and Foursquare for many years. However, after having “find friends” block all my friends’ checkins and photos, I deleted and reinstalled the app. Now there’s a screen asking me to “agree” to swarm using my data, but the button is below the bottom of the screen! Not scrollable, text size makes no difference. So I can no longer use the app at all.

I can’t “login” because I have to “agree” to T’s & C’s and location sharing, etc, but the “AGREE” button/okay link is so FAR down below the text itself, I LITERALLY cannot get to clicking on it and have absolutely NO WAY to “agree”, move past the page and actually LOGIN TO THE APP!!!
Use to be great
Won’t let me login anymore. Deleted the app and reinstalled but still doesn’t work. It always says try again in a minute 🤷🏼♀️
Watch app crashes immediately
Other than the recent issue with the Watch app crashing immediately and being told it was fixed by support, this is a great app to keep track of checkins to places you've been in the past. If the Watch app is fixed, which is one of the main apps I use on my watch, then this is back to a 5 star rating for me. Seems there was some missteps recently with the last release and QA to make sure things weren't broken.
Edit: over a month later after submitting a support ticket they've still not fixed the Watch app which is one of the best and convenient apps to use … when it works. Hoping this is resolved soon.

good but need to change one annoying thing
all good. but please one very annoying thing that i cannot change my check-in after 24 hrs. sometimes i can forget to lock or unlock check-ins and after 24 hes i cannot do it. please open this function to have possibility any time lock or unlock check-in. and also changing description same 24 hrs only.

A fan of Swarm
I’ve been a fan of Swarm since it was called Foursquare and also since Loopt went away & to be honest. I wish I had discovered Swarm first. It’s definitely better than what Loopt was. And though Yelp allows you to check-in too. Swarm is more personal for me. I like it a lot. And I’ve been using it since 2012 and haven’t slowed down. But in recent time the iPhone app is cool. I have no complaints. The Apple Watch however, no longer works. It just stopped working. Crashes every time and I can no longer talk to text a check-in on the apple watch. And sometimes the badge won’t let you long press. So, I hope this gets better with iOS 17 release. But the app is still dope on the iPhone. I wish there was an actual iPad version too. But it may not be in their best interest to do that. But I hope it doesn’t go away because if it does. A part of routine and life long routine may go away. If I ever get super rich I’m buying them to keep them around forever.

Apple Watch app broken
Was great before the last release, labelled ‘minor bug fixes’. Now app is unusable on Apple Watch - simply crashes after opening (incl. after reinstallation).
Vague policies and uncooperative support
I’ve been using swarm since the first day it got launched , it’s such a useful app and got better different features added on the way. Unfortunately I had an issue with the add friends search and when I contacted support I was shocked when I was told as a casual response to “refrain” from adding random people as I have many friend requests sent in a short period of time!!!! How inconsiderate and inappropriate is this to be honest ! Is this how a support response should be without even addressing the main issue I reported? What adding random people policy you have in your TOS? Was I alerted of anything about any friend requests I sent ? Am I now a creepy stalker to your support team ? This is totally unacceptable and I am deleting my account and your app right away….

Many things don’t work anymore…
I’m a huge user of FOURSQUARE SWARM, and first joined on February 4, 2012. I regularly earn at least 1500 coins weekly. I’ve never gamed the app for points, each checkin is to a place I actually go to. I try to say why I’m at the place in my checkin, in a manner that tells a story about my day.
But wow - so many things don’t work now. Here’s some outstanding issues:
1. The biggest thing wrong is the inability to suggest edits. When I do, it says something went wrong. If it’s a big glaring error, the best I can do is leave a tip about it, if it’s something people should know. This is especially frustrating with newer businesses, even when I’ve added them.
2. A second issue I’ve had is with suggesting spots for either deletion or amalgamation. I actually have several places I visit regularly that have ended up with multiple entries. There is an option for reporting duplicates but no one at Swarm does anything about it.
3. The in-camera function freezes when I try to take a photo to go with my checkin. I love including photos so it shows I’ve actually been there. And I try to make them interesting. A local cafe I go to renovated this year, and they were so happy to learn about Swarm and all the photos of their shop that were there from over the last 15 years.
There are other things too but these three are top of mind. I’ll add to this list as things come up as I do use it daily.
