  • Exactly what I wanted

i downloaded about 12 lifting apps and tried them all. i was ready to settle on a couple that did a decent job of helping me track my workouts, but when i tried this one, deleted them all. even the free version of this app was more powerful and flexible than all the other apps, and it had the exact features i was looking for. i can track stats, configure my workouts, set different timers, set freaking bell for my intervals so i'm not constantly looking at my watch, add exercises, use my own reference images if i want… and to top it off, the app keeps improving and the creator is responsive.

i've told every one of my lifting friends about this app. good job.

  • Some watch logging issues

Watch has been wonky lately. When trying to log a set from my watch, it won’t record. I can record on my phone which then syncs immediately to my watch. Was working until recently.

    Developer Response

Hi, Thanks for the review! One of the app updates had an issue that caused a bug with logging on the Apple Watch. This should be fixed as of the latest app version (2.64) if you could please update and try it out again. Regards, Wade
  • Great app

I like this app I was using a book and paper for awhile and I found it super annoying I have try a few other apps but were difficult the use. This app is user friendly and just what I was looking for. I’d recommend it to anyone
  • Useful app, helpful developer

Having tried a couple of logging apps, I have found this one to contain all the features I required and adding exercises is straight forward. I also found that the superset function required a modification and reached out to the developer who was quick to respond and update the app.
  • Decent but a couple of improvements would help

This is the best app I have found so far for logging weights sessions on the Apple Watch. That being said I wish that there was a setting to turn off the sound without muting the whole watch.

It could also benefit from having the ability to recognise assisted sets such as on the assisted dip and pull up machines as negative weights.

  • Fully featured, and just works!

Gymlog looks plain compared to Fitlist or Smartgym, but don't let that fool you - it's the real deal. I've purchased all three apps and Gymlog is the only one of the three that has the features and stability I need. My only complaint is that it can be a little slow on my Apple Watch, but that could be the fault of my Series 2, not the app.

All in all, great all. Some minor quibbles (I wish it handled super sets a little more elegantly) but still the best strength training app I've found.

  • Ye ask and ye shall receive. Impressive app.

I was a bit frustrated after getting this app not seeing some features and it being less than forgiving one another aspect.

I originally left a 2 Star review. I said “if you can fix this, I’ll update my review”

As you can see, I’ve updated my review as promised.

    😊
  • Superb

    Excellent gym tracker.
    Works really well.
Only minor point- would like haptic to work away from the phone and when the screen is off.
    Recommended.
  • The best workout assistant I’ve found so far!

What matters to me with an app like this, for how I work out now, it has to have an Apple Watch app, sync with an iPad version, and offer a good selection of dumbbell workouts. The Watch app is great cause it has built in rest times and alerts you to when they’re up. One less thing I have to think about. Syncing with an iPad app where I can get a better lay of the land re me workout plan is great. If I had a wish for improvement it would be a simple quick animation on the Watch app for form for each exercise like a few other apps offer.
