Need more puzzles Amazing game though Maybe a daily one would be good too

    Developer Response

Thanks, we're working with Penny Dell to get more puzzles. It's amazing how fast people go through these! Given they're all constructed completely by hand and all the testing they go through, it's not feasible to provide a puzzle daily unfortunately. We can barely keep up with demand as it is, and a daily puzzle would be the equivalent of 12 new volumes (x30 puzzles) per year! (By the way, just in case that's not apparent, providing 3 stars is quite discouraging as it causes Apple to downgrade us in their search results - especially when you say at the same time that it is an "Amazing game" ... .) Happy puzzling! Cheers, Michael @ Egghead Games
  • Extreme Puzzles

I was significantly happier with this app, at first. It all changed when I started adding puzzles to my account for the additional “extreme” level puzzles and realized they are just the same “challenging” puzzles from their other logic puzzle apps.
Those of us that play on these levels know these puzzles by heart. We’ve solved them countless times in the past.

Please source NEWLY written puzzles and stop recycling from your other apps under different difficulties.

Hi - there should be ZERO puzzles recycled from any of our apps to another, or even within an app. Please email support@eggheadgames.com with ANY example and I'll look into it urgently. The Penny Dell puzzles in this app are licensed and sourced completely separately from the Puzzle Baron puzzles in our sister app (Logic Grid Puzzles). The only thing I can think of that might possibly be shared are the images. However those are not integral to the puzzle in any way. Thanks, Michael @ Egghead Games
  • Great app - love it

Great interface and a great range of difficulties - when buying other packs it would be nice to be able to buy a pack of just one difficulty range and more of those?
  • My favorite logic puzzle app

No ads or vids to watch. Reason why this is my favorite logic puzzle app is because of the very detailed hints. In other apps if you get stuck the hints provided are very vague and its hard to learn from. The hints in this app are very detailed and they teach you the thought process to solve the clues. This way you slowly learn how to solve these puzzles on your own.

  • Hints

It would be helpful to have an explanation as to why you should mark something as “true” or “false” when you use a hint/suggest a move. Sometimes I need a hint because I really have no idea and it’s still not clear why something is true or false after the hint.

Also more puzzles would be good. I downloaded this 3 days ago and am already done with all the puzzles.

  • Need more puzzles

I wish more puzzles were available for purchase. I’ve done all these already.
  • Terribly worded puzzles

After completing all of the free puzzles in a similar game, it recommended I download this one and at first glance the two apps are identical, so I imagine they’re made by the same folks. I thought I’d enjoy it as much as the original app I played on. I was wrong. The clues for the puzzles in this app are terribly written and worded, in my honest opinion. An example is:
“Rhonda has twice as many years of experience as the one surnamed Trebble (who isn’t Tina), who has more experience than the one who plays the trumpet.”

It’s still possible to figure out what they’re trying to say, but then I hit a point where my usual methods of solving seem to fail me and I feel like I’ve missed something in the poorly worded clues. When I finally lose patience and decide to use a hint, it only says “mark the highlighted square as false” but doesn’t explain why. I didn’t need to use hints in the other app except I think maybe one or two times when I was first starting to play, but from what I recall the hints explain why you are marking a square a certain way. I don’t want you to just give me the answer with no explanation, I want you to explain what I missed.

Hi, yes, these puzzles are quite different and overall more difficult than those in the sister app we make. They're authored by Penny Dell and are exactly like their traditional magazine puzzles. As such, they tend to be on the challenging side, and they lack the specialized "Smart Hint" engine that the Puzzle Baron sister app uses. FYI, you can tap "Show Answer" (below the clues) to see an explanation of how to solve the puzzle. Note though that even that can be quite cryptic and makes some big leaps sometimes. Thanks for giving it a try and taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. These puzzles are not for everyone, but just as some people like cryptic crosswords, some also like this particular style. Happy puzzling! Cheers, Michael @ Egghead Games
  • Love that there are no ads!

I like the no ad model and hope more games do it. I am so happy I don’t have to earn xp or coins, etc. I love this game! The only critique I have of this game is that the hints do not seem to be based on how I’ve completed the puzzle and there is no explanation for the hints. They are partial answers rather than hints that help you solve on your own.

  • It gets too difficult too fast. Disappointing.

I found it too difficult too fast and the hints were confusing. And I’m rather intelligent and usually enjoy logic problems. Disappointed.
  • no explanations for hints

these problems are certainly challenging, however the opportunity to learn and improve logical reasoning skills is limited. unlike in the logic puzzles app by the same developer, this one does not provide guidance with the hints; the hints just tell you what to do in a cell without a rationale that you can learn strategy from. at some point, most people will hit a wall no matter how much they try to figure out why a move is warranted beyond the ones they reason through on their own. in my case, i felt helpless and abandoned the puzzle and, eventually, the app as a whole, because i had hit a point of diminishing returns — which is a shame because i was reallyyyy enjoying the greater challenge these puzzles pose over the logic puzzles app. this one also offers fewer puzzles in the free starter pack. would love to see some updates!

Yes, these "old school" puzzles don't have the necessary smarts to do the Smart Hints like the other app. However, perhaps overlooked, is the "Answer" section that appears below the hints. That is very cryptic (like the puzzle clues sometimes!), but it does provide some insight into how to proceed. This answer text is what used to be published in small print in the back of the magazines. Hopefully looking at that will let you find some enjoyment, but otherwise, thanks for giving them a try, and apologies that they can't be upgraded to the same Smart Hint functionality of my other Logic Puzzles app. Happy puzzling! Cheers, Michael
