  • Nice — when it works

    The app gives you useful data, such as the realtime cost of what you are running. BUT, the app is incredibly unreliable. Today there’s no realtime data, it can’t connect (supposedly) to the meter that’s literally four feet away, and no matter how many tries I make, it says it can’t bind. If do a reset of the app, all of your past data is deleted! On top of all of this, they charge a monthly fee. Are they going to blame all of this on a fallen tree branch 15 miles away?

  • Issues but Customer Support Cane Through

    I’ve had issues with the app, but after a few months they’ve resolved the issues I was seeing. I wish they would allow their customer support to continue to update tickets even when the ticket has been assigned to another team to give customers more granularity but overall I am happy with the app.

    That being said, this is a cool feature to have, especially when you’ve got a lot going on in a home and are curious to see how much energy is being used. I’ve got a hot tub, AC, and a few other high consuming pieces of equipment and it is enlightening to see just how much is being used. After seeing how much, I was able to tailor their energy use to have a smaller impact on the grid and my wallet. It can be very helpful at times.

  • Customer Support Non Existent

    Been having issues with their box for months. I had a tech come out who couldn’t resolve the issue but they said it would be fixed by “end of day” on the backend. This was a month ago and still no fix has happened. I’ve reached out to customer support 8 times in the last month trying to get an update and they’ve just ghosted me. Absolutely infuriating. As cool as this gadget might seem, it is 100% not worth it. It isn’t even that accurate when it does work. Do not waste your money on this box or the monthly subscription fee they charge you!

  • Mind Boggling, Frustrating Support

    Sure, it is cool that I can track my instant usage with an app, but I have had trouble for over two issues now where things haven’t worked. They’ve sent someone out to my house, and that person couldn’t fix it. They said it would be fixed in a day on “the backend”. Two months later, no fix. You reach out to customer service and you are lucky to get a response in a week. When you do get a response, it is generic. Honestly, not really worth the $1.99 a month. The novelty wears out quick, especially when it doesn’t work.

  • Boot up time

    I love the app when it’s working correctly. Some days it doesn’t show up some days it does. My problem is that when I’m on my iPhone it takes forever like a minute to two minutes for it to boot up. I go to my Samsung and it pops up immediately. It must be driven by Microsoft. We need an iPhone app.
  • Very informational

    I love having this app it’s very informational and helps me keep track of what everyone is using in the home and what appliances are using more electricity. The real time use is really helpful.
  • great app but could use some improvements with smart compatibility

    App works great. The layout is easy to read and understand. One thing is hope to see more compatibility smart devices, such as meross or eco bee thermostats, to be added on the list of smart accessories.

    What a garbage app! It worked once when I downloaded it, and even then it wasn’t pulling in any of my household data to tell me my energy usage. I thought maybe it would take a few days but every subsequent open would spin at “logging in” without ever logging me in. I filled out the surveys in the app the first time, and when it stopped working, it feels like DTE just wanted to collect additional data about my house and doesn’t actually care about reciprocal information.

  • Great info, bad performance

    This app crashes and freezes constantly. I love the info it provides, i wish it performed better as an app though.
  • Helpful for reducing DTE’s dirty energy tyranny

    All around, a pretty decent app. Some improvements to be desired like better rate plan compatibility (ie D1.2 time-of-day, rider 18 for distributed solar)

    I use this app to make sure I minimize my grid imports and maximize my solar self-consumption and suggest all other solar users do the same. The efficiency tips are overly complicated but not bad, as is the overall layout and functionality.
    If only their tips would mention on-site solar and storage as an option! And a more affordable, reliable, and clean one at that :)
