  • Time of day rate issues - updated for v8.0.4

    Update: The developers are listening

    V8.0.4 addressed all the issues below, making this app now highly useful for the time of day rate. You can finally see how many ‘on peak’ vs ‘off peak’ kWhs you have used, which is really the point of switching to get that ratio maxed. I’m upping the rating from 3 to 5 stars. - now if your still listening, just need to improve the login time, please!

    App worked great when on the standard rate. After switching to ‘time of day’ rate, it was clear little compatibility testing was done. Issues 1) App provides a ‘red zone’ for on peak weekday hours, but can’t manage to adjust at the weekend. 2) live view shows off peak at all times, regardless of time of day 3) Total summary hour graph only shows total off peak hours (no on peak), but this is probably due to 2) 4) cost per kWh is all over the place and never reflective of actual rates. Seems that standard rate is used on some screens and random values in others. Please make adjustable if it cannot be tied to the actual and seasonal rate. 5) many other small problems. Generally needs to be checked for rates other than standard rate. Great potential if fixed

  • What Happened?

    This app used to work. As of the last update, it no longer saves group assignments for my devices or device icons. Every time I sign back in it’s all gone and I have to start over. Since the app automatically signs me off at least once daily, it is futile. Please fix this app DTE!
  • Slow as an old dog

    This app, although useful, is extremely slow logging in. 45 seconds or more. Seeing more than one year of data would be nice too.
  • Can’t login

    I put in my dte login credentials and all I get is failed to create site. I contacted customer support and they don’t know how to resolve the issue.
  • Boot up time

    I love the app when it’s working correctly. Some days it doesn’t show up some days it does. My problem is that when I’m on my iPhone it takes forever like a minute to two minutes for it to boot up. I go to my Samsung and it pops up immediately. It must be driven by Microsoft. We need an iPhone app.
  • Great app with even better tech behind it

    The DTE Insight app is a great app with even better technology behind it. The things this team are doing are next level, and the customer support team is even better! Always dealing with my issues in a timely and efficient manner. Can’t wait to see the future for this app.
  • Rates and Usage is Different between yrs and months

    It will show lower usage this month than a year ago but then the bill for the current month is way higher there should be an explanation of the percentage the rate went up from last year
  • Gets slower after update

    Is it just me? But I recognize after each update the login takes longer.
    Even after iPhone reset and new installation of DTE insight no change
  • Lots of potential but poorly executed

    This app has lots of potential an some great features, like budget setting, scanning of device usage, etc

    That being said, a typical DTE production - good ideas poorly executed. I’ve been using this app since 2015 and it continues to crash, not update consumption consistently. Furthermore, its incessant updates for branding, look, etc are nice - but how about better consistency of meter consumption, not crashing randomly for no reason, opening and crashing immediately (newest issue that regularly occurs). I understand it all interfaces with infrastructure behind the scenes, so figure out what’s the issue and fix it.
    I’m sure typical of DTE, internal management and “leadership” is running around blaming everyone / technology and developers are trying to fix with little to no time or budget...

    Update as of 8/2/21 - Support has reached out before to try to fix it, but I get multiple days of no data, takes way longer than 36 hours to load. I’ve done the usual logout, login, delete/reinstall app. Not sure why this is so difficult. I have friends in other cities who use other utils apps that do the same thing, no issues. I also have a newer meter on the outside of the house (2019ish) and a fresh power run from the pole... so who knows. Oh wait yeah it’s DTE

    My updated equal monthly payment has doubled, even though I have a negative balance. I called and ask why and he said my usage last winter was more. I tried to check last years bills to check my usage and can’t see last 12 months to check. We need to be able to look back if we have chosen to save paper and not get a paper bill.
