This app is mostly an advertisement for the paid version (Energy Bridge). There’s a lot going on with very little useful data.
I primarily wanted it to try & determine if I could benefit from the Dynamic Peak Hours pricing plan. The problem is, the actual cost of a kWh is not listed on either DTE app or the website. I spent hours poring through all three. There is a LOT of information, a lot of words & links… most of it is arbitrary & irrelevant to the average residential customer.
I played with the numbers a little & managed to figure out the kWh on my own. Here’s the formula, if you’re interested:
Take your total kWh for the day & divide it by the cost (this is shown in the center of the dial on home page of app).
Example;
5.8 kWh costs $1.10
1.1 divided by 5.8 = 0.189
Each kWh costs $0.19
That’s high.

Very slow to login…what the heck
The ap seems to work well, but why does it always take 45 to 60 seconds to login??? Now, it’s not my data connection, but my phone and the wired gateway are connected to a 1 Gbps cable connection. If the app is downloading the data to the phone, this is a poorly designed data acquisition system which should have all the data buffered to an online server. This isn’t rocket science. Can’t use it
Would be great to see how I can use the app, but I can’t even get past the “welcome to your gas usage” screen. No insights at all.. worthless app.AD4435

Watching the spinning wheel forever trying to log in. Restarting it didn’t help. Different days didn’t do. Just spins, spins, and spins. Good for meditation and patience practice.
It did work the very first time. The tool seemed useful enough to see how much power we consumed, etc. Consider it like a pair of disposable chopsticks. You can’t use it more than once.Show lessAkehru
Worked till it didn’t.
This app worked well for a few days and now when I open it is just says logging in with a spinning wheel. I haven’t changed my credentials and it attempts to login so quickly that I couldn’t change them if I wanted to. So I’d say this app is unreliable just like DTE’s grid.AppleWolfe
App needs multi meter support
I have 2 meters, one for the house on Residential Electric Service R18 Cat 1 with my bidirectional meter, and one for the EV on the Experimental Vehicle Service - Time of Day
The energy bridge device seems to only be able to be paired with the house meter, so I can only see that one's data. But in the afternoon, it aggregates the two meters for the previous day. throwing off all the data. You can have the ring and line graph for the day be entirely golden with no power draw, and have it say you drew a bunch of power from grid, which i did, but on the other meter. This also affects things like the week to week comparison in energy advisor.
App needs to support showing each meter individually, or not do the aggregation and only ever show the main house meter. I would happily pay the 12 dollars a year for a second hardware box if needed.
Also, as of this week, the ring graph is coloured green (buying power) when feeding to grid instead of gold (selling power). The line graph is still correct though, so seems like a UI bugShow lesswballin
Very slow response - useful features
This app has potentially useful features but requires extraordinary patience to use. Login take a minimum of 3 minutes and can take as long as 7. As a bonus- login often fails. Once open screen taps take 10 to 30 seconds for a response.Dyne user
