Needs a practice hub!

Love the app, have used it for a few years now and have learned lots doing so. Only suggestion is it needs a practice hub that rotates the questions you haven’t done in a while or aren’t getting correct to the front. Similar to the way Anki puts the flash cards you need to see more to the top of the deck, outside of that the app is brilliant<—lol, and I’ll be continuing to use it!

Brilliant is brilliant

I’m a data science student and I have taken many courses related to AI and LLMs in my past. But nothing explains topics really well like Brilliant does. Before I took the ‘How LLMs Work’ course from Brilliant, I wasn’t able to explain it to anyone who is not familiar with computer science in general. When I tried to explain it to someone, it quickly became overwhelming for the other person. After taking this course, I’m so relieved that I can share with friends about the fascinating behind-the-scenes in these AI models. This subscription is the best investment I have made for myself. Thank you.

Works well for me

I was frustrated because I could not remember how to solve math problems/equations that I considered ‘easy’ in college. I started going cover to cover in my old calculus textbook, but I would run into a mix of chapters I remembered very well followed by chapters where we only covered one important topic that was difficult to track down. I have been using Brilliant the past month to refresh my Calculus 2 skills (integrals/differential equations/infinite series/etc.,).

My time has been much better spent using Brilliant. My goal is to regain the ability to solve complex problems that require a modest understanding of multivariable calculus (e.g., physical modeling, multivariable statistical analysis). I am confident that Brilliant is helping me to reach that goal in both a more efficient and more focused manner.

Living to learn

This is brilliant, excuse the pun. What a plethora of hugely awesome material. I have not yet signed up for the premium as inflation IS an issue, but the amount of information you can get for free and the quality of the lessons is great. Simple, quick, with recap - a recipe for learning. Learning is fun, learning is knowledge and knowledge is power. Give this app a go, for free, and I hope you have as much fun learning as I am.

Thx brilliant

I felt behind in high school then i started with brilliant and I boosted ahead of everyone else.

been using 4 days, liking it so far

Definitely different & far more educational then any of “Exercise your brain” apps! I know the running joke is “I’m so glad I learned the quadratic formula in high school instead of how to do my taxes,” but a lot of people disregard the fact that practicing math is essential in developing your mind & maintaining plasticity. You may not apply algebraic formulas to your every day life, but the use of logic that is required to solve complex math problems is not something we practice as humans in our day to day. I promise that practicing algebra, calculus, geometry, etc. has much more benefit to your mind than simply gaining the ability to find the area of a circle. There’s even studies that show regular studying of of mathematics can lesser instances & severity of Dementia & Alzheimer's, even when highly inheritable. Again, I’m only 4 days in, but I’d currently be happy to pay the price for the subscription.

Removed a star because this app is clearly still in development, and there’s a lot of confusing questions. I took math all the way up to AP Calculus BC in high school, which I’m only 7 years removed from, and I still have to sit and read some of the questions out loud, and several times over, to understand what’s being asked of me.

Exactly what I needed

I’ve always enjoyed math and science and I wanted to get ahead of my school courses and learn as much as possible. Brilliant allows me to learn at a very fast pace. I love the focus on intuition rather than the basic school approach of memorization and regurgitation. Even if I’m not understanding every little detail - because there’s some confusing notation that they don’t do an amazing job explaining - I know I’m getting value from the courses because my overall understanding is improving. Admittedly, this app isn’t great for everybody; I feel like it was specifically designed for fast, intuition-focused learners like myself which is super cool but beware before you buy it. I didn’t buy premium, I’m basically speed running all the best courses on the free trial so I’m glad I get my chance to learn without paying. Thanks guys, this has become my new favorite mobile “game.”

Top quality

Very well curated content in bite size pieces. I can do as much as I want and at my own pace. The explanations and demonstrations are thorough. I wish I had this as a student at school.

Great engaging content, some ui annoyances

Like the content. But sometimes it doesn’t feel like it’s made for an iPhone and the buttons for checking or submitting answers and/or the question are spaced weird and outside of what I can see so I’m missing context or can’t access the button smoothly. Another placement thing I don’t like and find annoying is the repeat lesson buttons and I hit those by accident and am sent back to the start. Then it looks like I never did the lesson even if I completed it. None of these are deal breakers. I mean I’m paying for the app after all. But it’s a bit annoying at times and seem like small changes that could be remedied more easily than full on content development. I have premium and after each block of lessons in probably for data analysis it keeps asking me if I want to try premium for free.

Ok next request? Is space to write stuff down and figure out problems in the app. They have gridded logic problems and I guess they want us to draw this out on paper on our own? I realize this sounds nit picky but they go hard for visualizing things (and they sometimes don’t always add a lot of value) but then don’t have what seems like functional things like a place to solve the problems or draw things out on our own in app.
