Consistency and Continuity

Whilst the topics and exercises are usually very good and mostly feel like they elicit learning, there seem to me to sometimes be some inconsistencies between learning objectives, exercise responses (mine) and next learning steps. And sometimes discontinuity with levels of difficulty.

This is BRILLIANT

This application is a great way to educate yourself, your students, your friends. With more than 100 different courses, and lessons available for anyone. The courses include scientific education, mathematic problem solving, logic and calculation ect. This is a great app sponsored by kauskausart… I might have misspelt the name, but you can lean and take a step into yours and our future together.

Thank you for teaching me maths!

It’s been over 15 years since I did maths in school and I’m starting some study soon that includes two maths units. This app has given me the perfect revision and taught me plenty of new things. I feel much more confident with my maths skills and knowledge going into my course.

I love the ease of use of the , the examples used in the content and the sense of progress it gives as it weaves through the different section.

Brilliant is indeed a brilliant way to learn

It is very clear and very well explained. Learning practically is always the best method. Very highly recommend.

Math courses are excellent for visual learners, but logic needs work

I have a lifelong learning disability with math, but I've always wanted to understand it. I'm a visual learner, and I can't stand the pretentious lingo taught in school. Overall, Brilliant is perfect for my learning style. It does a great job helping me visualize mathematical concepts and make them more relatable in daily life. That said, the logic course needs work. It presupposes that you already have an intuitive understanding, which I don't, due to my learning disability. I think in pictures, not logically, and some of the answers to the questions are downright baffling. In some questions, they say they have provided all the information needed to make a logical conclusion, when in fact we have no proof whatsoever and can only speculate. They expect a correct answer to an impossible question. I can't recommend this course to anyone unfamiliar with logical reasoning, because you're on your own with no help, unlike the math courses. The math courses are much better overall. Unlike Khan Academy, they don't simply tell you you're wrong with no explanation. They point out exactly where you erred, or what you should notice, so you truly understand what you're learning. That doesn't make it easy, but it's very much worthwhile. I hope the developers will take this approach with the logic courses in the future.

Amazing Idea and execution

As someone who needs to visualise things to understand concepts, this app comes in handy.
The reason for 4 stars is due to like small bits of text that I personally found confusing.
I wish there was a way in the app to choose the wording and maybe reword that sentence or a help AI that makes it easier to understand and adds context to the previous paragraphs .

Overall I love this concept, wish I could work for a company like this to deliver content and make it easier/relatable to life. I still need to learn more coding but if there is an opportunity for keen learner.

Amazing Educational Tool

I’ve been an award winning physics and engineering educator for over a decade. I’ve taught all grade levels from undergraduate to kindergarten, and I’m deeply invested in finding and promoting effective methods for teaching and learning science. I must tell you: I’m absolutely blown away by this app’s whole system and content. I got this app recently because I sustained a TBI from a bicycling accident and wanted to test/flex my intellectual skills and make sure I still retained my academic knowledge. While I’m happy to report that I’m doing fine, I was so thrilled to discover this app. In practically every lesson, I was constantly thinking “Wow! This is such a clever and effective way to present this information and scaffold one’s understanding of it.” I am taking a ton of inspiration from this for new ways I’d like to teach my students. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn, review, or level up their understanding of a variety of topics in STEM. Whether you’re just wanting some intellectual stimulation or you’re a current math or science student looking for tutorials that supplement your coursework, you will love Brilliant.

Great so far

I have ADHD and dyslexia and I'm now even more angry at my school teachers years back (I was undiagnosed but still), and so far it's great. I'd like to see speech within the app as an accessibility option to read out text (sometimes the maths problems get a bit text heavy) and maybe font options. As another commenter said, good for those of us with adhd, and their idea of making flashcards.

Fyi I'm doing this for fun and to prove my school and a college teacher wrong (she laughed at me). I've always been sure underneath it all I could do maths with the right kind of teaching, eg one to one, now this. Thanks guys. I hope I can actually prove myself to me.

Insert unoriginal title

This stuff is brilliant, like I’m sure many others have commented on.

I am a late diagnosed autistic adult with adhd and needless to say, I stopped learning maths after division and hated it. Failed every year

I started the foundational maths course and I’m actually looking forward to my lessons. I think my level of maths is too poor even for the foundation level, but I’m holding on and it’s making the concepts really simple to visualise, even for someone with aphantasia who seriously struggles to think of abstract concepts.

I look forward to exploring all the rest of the courses on offer, which are indeed many. Like, MANY many.

For someone looking to cross the barrier into STEM as an adult who was failed by the education system, or even anyone who just wants to start learning something new, this is a great way to keep your brain in tiptop shape.

Cannot recommend enough and actually do recommend to anyone that will listen!

Disappointed

I jumped in for the premium, then lost my account status. So contacted support, they got me back to my account being premium. It happened a second time , contacted support, they gave me some ideas as to why I might be able to reactivate my account. Cache issues, etc. I did all that with my iPhone. Spent quite a bit time on it. I only was able to use up the free version. But it’s not just the money, but the learning experience I found myself guessing a lot of the quizzes. And I suppose if you do that enough osmosis might kick in . That’s not really learning. I did that in school and was lucky to graduate. I’m just going delete the app and chalk up to an expensive lesson. I will say that support does address any issues, but I don’t feel that I’ve learned or will learn anything. Probably had to do with how one learns.
