Frustrating - have had for years and only gets worse
The app has trouble loading and usually takes multiple attempts. When trying to review camera footage it will constantly crash and then you have to start over. If you attempt to save a camera clip, you can’t do anything else until the clip saves or it will cancel it out and you have to start over. Attempting to manually scroll will through footage will sometimes switch you to a different camera completely. The delay while manually scrolling through time makes it almost impossible to actually review footage. Automated light settings eventually stop functioning and have to be redone. Turning lights off/on will not work consistently and will usually leave lights on a dim rather than off. Talking with my tech guys they say to just use a computer but that defeats the purpose since I would have to be at home if using my computer. It’s very frustrating to use and had I known better, I never would have installed the Elan system at all.

Worst App
Always dropping out and can’t connect to server. Worst app ever!!!!

Awful, use a different app/system!
After only a year my app dumped all of my settings, won’t allow me to set up a light schedule, doesn’t connect to my HVAC system anymore, and locks me out of my house if I try to use the keypad. I had to go unautomated just to be able to use my thermostat and door locks again. Will be using a different app/system asap. Avoid this app or any company that tries to install it in your house.

Front gate rarely opens
This app rarely works when we need to open gate. It keeps on disconnecting and I have to restart the app. Still, it wouldn’t work and now I have to get all my parcels at work and ask people to call me first if they plan to visit us.

Frustrating
We just had the app change from Elan to Nice viewer now every time I go off the app and then back it loads up all over again. It takes for ever trying to get connection. half the time tells me my password is wrong then logs in. I just want to stay on the last screen I was on rather than loading trying to get connection every time I go away for even 10min. It used to stay on the app and only reload if it had been a long time.

App Not Finicky
As any tech gadgets, if it’s not setup correctly or using garbage network to support the traffic those connected devices needs, you will have a very bad experience……. Please don’t blame the system, blame the installer or not enough budget to buy an enterprise network to handle the system needs……

ELAN Home Automation
One of the best home automation systems on the market! I’ve had it installed for more than 12 years and has been reliable from day one! Can’t say enough how great it is and plan on upgrading soon to a new controller and interface.
Update from earlier this year a massive retrograde step
We have had Elan for about 30 months. Initially it was pretty good, but some irritation when I had to log in again on occasion. Other than that the layout was logical and the app functioned well.
The update a few months back is a real pain. I have to log in every single time I open the app. Even after navigating for a few seconds to adjust, for example, the feed for Airplay in media.
The app itself is now a nightmare to use, being very slow to react (if it reacts at all) to trying to move through pages.
The media changes are my particular bugbear. The layout of the page for an individual room now has a page for radio and airplay and one for favourites, previously they were on one page, so now I have the added difficulty of moving to whichever page I want. The radio page leads me to a particular radio station (my main one), but if I want to find another station from here I need to move between pages (or not depending on how the app is responding), either back to where I have come from, or to press the radio globe symbol and the the favourites symbol, which may get there eventually.
Thankfully we have a wall mounted screen that works as it has always have worked, but is only in one of the 4 rooms media covers.

Terrible
It’s absolutely terrible. My family has so many tech issues with this and has spent thousands trying to fix them. It doesn’t have an intuitive interface at all and barely works most of the time. There’s not one good thing about it. Way too expensive for something that’s not intuitive or working the majority of the time. Please don’t buy this. Save yourself.
