Worst system ever

I don’t know where to start, this is the most awful security app ever. I think it’s actually getting worse with the updates! I can’t even load it on my phone anymore. It just won’t connect. My husband has an iPhone 11 and thankfully it isn’t allowing him to update past version 8.6 because the moment he does we won’t be able to access our system remotely at all. What a joke. Doesn’t help that our installer seems just as clueless about the system as the app developers. Don’t waste your money.

Antiquated and buggy

I went with Elan when setting up my new home we built in 2019. I was unfamiliar with home automation setups and followed the advice of my contractor. From day one it has been buggy and the UI ugly and antiquated. It is like it was programmed in the early 200’s. I have had more service calls than I can count. I’m stuck with this system because of my money that I invested but every single day I have been and am looking for a way out.

Stopped connecting audio streamer after update

Since the last app update… App intermittently logging out then failing to find controller, need to restart hub to pick up again. Can’t connect Spotify or iTunes to home speaker system, radio channels available via tune in but only play in one room now and volume function stopped working on app. App worked fine for 18months, no idea what they’ve done to it and support is awful.

Remote access no longer available

Suddenly remote access stopped working as well as the weather forecast is no longer available. I noticed issues with accessing/connecting to the system on the local network. Could the developer advise on the above?

Don’t bother

We inherited an Elan system in a house we bought. Had to dump a decent chunk of change to get it working again for us (despite it apparently working for the last owners when they left?) Now the app has completely stopped working meaning the entire wired system in our house is worthless. Nobody can help and nobody seems to know how anything works at this company. Stay away.

Constant problems

System fails all the time. Zero tech support. You have to pay for a tech visit for every problem, and there are many. This thing is a lemon.

No connection after latest App update

No connection to elan system via app after latest App update. Elan need to sort this out, not being able to open and close security gates or switch on heating is beyond poor, fix asap.

What the heck happened?!

This system came with our house, and while it’s always been frustrating now it’s flat out unbearable. In the last few weeks we have lost all access to our light switches in the app. We can’t see or control a single switch! It takes forever to load the app if it loads at all. What’s the point of a smart house system that is down right stupid…

Why why did you update this???

It’s working just fine and judging by the other recent reviews you guys broke the app! It’s super sluggish and super slow and non responsive most of the time. Like seriously if it’s not broken why mess with it?

No longer working

This app no longer lets us connect after years of use. Please fix!
