Description of Google Classroom

Classroom is a free service for schools, non-profits, and anyone with a personal Google account. Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect—inside and outside of schools. Classroom saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized. Classroom is designed to help teachers create, collect, and grade assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized. Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom. With the mobile app for iOS, students and teachers can view their classes and communicate with their classmates in real time. Students can open their assignments and work on them right from their iPhone or iPad. Teachers can keep track of who has turned in work and grade the assignment - at school or on the go. Students and teachers receive notifications when they have new content in Classroom, so they are always up to date. There are many benefits of using Classroom: Easy to set up Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. It takes just minutes to set up. Saves time The simple, paperless assignment workflow allows teachers to create, review, and grade assignments quickly, all in one place. Improves organization Students can see all of their assignments on an assignments page, and all class materials (e.g., documents, photos, and videos) are automatically filed into folders in Google Drive. Enhances communication Classroom allows teachers to send announcements and start class discussions instantly. Students can share resources with each other or provide answers to questions on the stream. Secure Like the rest of Google Workspace for Education services, Classroom contains no ads, never uses your content or student data for advertising purposes. Permissions Notice: Camera: Needed to allow the user to take photos or videos and post them to Classroom. Microphone: Needed to enable audio capture for recording videos to be posted to Classroom. Photos: Needed to allow the user to attach photos or videos to Classroom. Photos or videos posted to Classroom will be stored on Google servers in order to show them in Classroom.

  • It’s a good app for all the haters

I think that google classroom is pretty good. I went to the App Store for fun one time and I use it for homework for my school. I saw google classroom and I had an update, but I realized that google classroom had an 1.7 rating. I had to write a review because in school we use it a lot. There is nothing wrong with it and I don’t get the hate for this app. It seems that all the kids didn’t like homework, so they thought if they could give it a 1.7 star they would not have any homework to do. The app is great and I will show you all the important things in it. It is really simple to go to your assignments, you just go to class work and your in. Another thing is that it organizes your assignments. It shows you when it is due and you pick th classroom. I think that this is a great app overall so my advice is to download it. And trust me you will love it.

  • Overrated Application. Truly a tarnish to the beautiful society known as learning.

TERRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY SCANDALOUS. As a teacher, I strongly support an interactive, supportive, helpful, learning community. BUT! this application has proven to be the polar opposite of my standards. Such dastardly methods used by this repulsive company titled “Google” has damaged the safe haven of my student’s life, ability, and social status. This application has proven time and time again to cause illnesses, make the students more depressed than they have ever been, and has made the sculpture known as the human brain to be violent, outrageous, and absolutely no standard towards humanity. Humanity has truly lost all hope towards the golden future. This greedy company is the valid reason towards global warming, homelessness, climate change, poverty, pollution toward the local wildlife, and endangerment. I hope this company faces the true karma it deserves.

  • Outdated and Ineffective

I am a student at Buchanan High in Clovis Unified School District in the 2026 graduating class. I have had many issues with this app despite its helpfulness to turn in assignments, I have seen many downsides to the app on both computers and mobile. I have not seen many changes to Google Classroom since I started using it as a fifth grader back in 2018. It hasn’t been a problem until recently I have been unable to turn in assignments, my app is up to date, but I have seen issues with people who also have the same model iPhone I do (iPhone 13). This has overall hurt my grade more than help it as my WiFi connection has been very poor and has made it difficult to do assignments at home. At school, the transition to the digital era has not been helpful as there have been many times students have not been able to access certain websites or even login to their computers due to the strain on the internet connection. I’ve always supported Google Classroom but it hasn’t been helpful recently.
