  • Great way to learn

I have been playing for 35 years and I do alright but I wanted to go back to the basics and really learn some things. I love the simple steps they take and break down the lessons. This has really been great for me. I’ve learned a lot so far, there is also a lot of content so I won’t get bored I can jump around a bit and do different things. I would recommend to anyone at any level. Great app!. Thanks Guitar Tricks

  • If you can’t stand being marketed to, skip this

I actually paid for this twice. My problem is that when I pay for a service, I don’t want that service aggressively marketing to me-constantly spamming my email.
I like this app. I like the service. But regardless of my clicking the button that says “DON’T send me email notifications”, they just ignore your wishes and treat you like someone they’re not already collecting money from.
I can’t express how much I hate being marketed to. Equally as much, I hate a device that ignores your wishes and spams you like crazy. Literally. Sign up and you’ll see.

  • One flaw

The app is great. Possibly the best guitar app out there (and I’ve tried several).

However, one infuriating flaw is that it doesn’t show you which videos you’ve already viewed and which you haven’t. It’s particularly frustrating when you have to stop today’s lesson and can’t bookmark your position. I find myself surfing through many similarly themed videos in search of my bookmark. That wastes a lot of time. Otherwise, very well done.

  • The teachers and clarity are a Game changer

Let’s be honest. Everyone thinks they are a great teacher but few are. I’ve tried guitar lessons on and off for the 22 years I’ve been trying to learn guitar. In the end, messing about and learning through trial and error has always been more fun and I’ve ditched the teacher.

The app is easy to use - yes it sometimes has glitches. Yes it sometimes is easy to lose track. But structure isn’t what keeps my interest. This app is addictive because the lessons are clear, they are short, they let you jam before boredom kicks. You feel like you are winning. Constantly.

The teachers aren’t arrogant. The clips are short which means if (like me) you occasionally zone out...you can go back and watch that but again.

Brilliant. I actually learn and like it!

  • Spend the money it’s worth it

Listen if your like me, which is , I need to know how things work Before I do anything, then this is for you, yes you could jump into songs and they have easy modes on that, BUT they’ll say things like sus4 , Barr , power chords.. etc I need to know what that is completely to understand what I’m doing, their beginner stages goes into that in detail, does it take a while .. yes .. is it sometimes boring .. yes. But you’ll understand why they go into detail later on.. and it’s def worth it..I don’t like to rush into the next lesson.. I need to have the chords sounding almost perfect before I go on..oh and tons of songs to learn.. love this app

  • Wow

    So kool
  • One massive glaring omission

The app is ok, I chose this over Fender Play but not sure that was the right decision. The authentication is different between the website and the app, so if you register on the website with google or Facebook, you can’t login to the app the same way.

The biggest issue however is once in the app, there is no easy way to track your progress - so when you go back to the app your have to delve around in history to find out what you have done - and to add additional confusion, the lessons in the history are named individually, but in the progress section you have to choose a lesson group, so have to guess which lesson group your last individual lesson was in.

The website version has progress bars on the lessons, this is all that is needed, but for the app to be missing these it makes it clunky just to do something basic like pick up where you left off, seems like a really basic omission for what should be a learning application.
