Thanks for your review and feedback. We are always working on new features or squashing bugs if they appear. Something we are looking at is an additional Sub in line with the season as we know not everyone can be on the water all year round! Thanks for your support!
Excellent app - Not just for SUP
It not only does exactly what it says on the tin, the team were seemed really eager to help & super responsive when I encountered a small bug.
If you’ve got an Apple Watch, have a Surf Ski or Kayak and aren’t a fan of Garmin check this out.

EDIT Thanks for updating the review and we are glad you are loving the app! You will notice a heap of new updates since you first got in touch - fixing bugs and adding new features. Hope you enjoy! *Original* Hi there Matt. Thanks for getting in touch with your review. Paddle Logger on the Apple Watch has two settings. • Water Lock On - this is Apple’s Waterlock which we are unable to interfere with. Rotating the screen ‘unlocks’ the screen to pause a trip. • Water Lock Off - this turns off Apple’s Waterlock in favour of our own. This still locks the screen from water droplets but rotating the crown not only unlocks the screen but automatically pauses the trip. Meaning you can move and sort your equipment out before ending the trip with dry hands! • I hope this helps - it is in our Help documentation in more detail (https://paddle-logger-ltd.helpscoutdocs.com/article/28-apple-watch-waterlock) but we will endeavour to make it more obvious in the UI! Thanks! Do get in touch direct with further queries as we will pick them up faster!
PiT
Response from developer
Edit** Hi again, thanks for getting in contact. I wanted to explain a few things regarding PiT. Paddler in Trouble is a safety service that sends a message to a contact on your behalf should you get into difficulty on the water. It is not mandatory. It is part of our Pro package and you are able to turn it off on the home page of the app if it is a service you do not wish to use. The bar above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen on the start page is the PiT bar. The left hand toggle says Off. Just make sure it is set to off and you will be good to go. With it switched off, you will not be asked to enter details as it requires at least one designated emergency contact. If you have a concern. I will though reiterate we have no interest in your personal details, numbers are anonymous and automated in a way we are unable to access them. I hope that alays any fears, do get in touch if you have any other queries, thanks, David ** Hi Capt M14, Love your suggestions. That is something we could do to improve the image taking capability of the app. Especially for wildlife spotting! Regarding the pause issue, get that it may be better to have a hold to pause. When you say that you may have knocked it, do remember that the app will still track when the screen is locked - which will mitigate any accidental pausing. Please do keep an eye out for your suggestions in the future!! Cheers, David
Great app!
Awesome app!

Disappointed that I don’t have access to Satellite view of paddles route without paying yet more money?
Paid out in excess of $800 for Apple Watch & have free access to Satellite with that but you require a payment of $6.50 per month for that access via your App!
Happy to be corrected if I’ve got it wrong???

Hi there, thanks for leaving a review. It really does help us build a better product for everyone. Hopefully you will find Paddle Logger a useful tool out on the water. Yes on the free version you are able to use your new Apple Watch for tracking and see your Heart Rate, Distance etc. As well as view your trip in detail on a trip map and share with your friends etc. Unfortunately we do require an income to continue to provide the service and customer support, so some additional features are behind a small subscription fee, (this is further discounted at an Annual fee). The full details of which are laid out in the App Store description. We brought in the free version to lower the barrier to get people used to enriching their paddle experience simply and easily with a mobile phone. The paid features then allow you to get more technical insight into your paddling. If you have any further questions please do contact us within the app and we can help you out! Thanks.
Like it lots - Update: Bug
Old: Kudos to the developer. Been SUPing for about ten years and this app does a nice job in capturing our little jaunts. But I think the Apple Watch interface is a bit clunky and not all that intuitive, and the thought of spending $4/mo. for the premium version is ludicrous to us. Of course I have no knowledge of the actual demand curve, but I’m pretty sure if there was a one-time charge of $9.99, or MAYBE a .99/mo. fee, his cash flow would increase significantly. Just a thought. And thanks again for an excellent app.

Hi there, thanks for your kind words! We will take your comments about pricing on board, it is probably worth noting as well that an Annual Subscription is a significant discount month on month when compared to the Monthly Subscription. Do get in touch if you have any other queries! Thanks UPDATE: thanks for the message about the potential bug, if you could contact us in app it would be really useful to start a conversation and help more easily! Thanks!
