My life is once again peaceful
When I initially joined BOU a few years back, I setup all my accounts ready to transfer over from Bendigo.
And then I used the BOU mobile app.
The app was so bad I would have immediately deleted it and thrown my phone into the microwave if I wasn’t too lazy to use the PC to do my online banking. I transferred no accounts, money, or love over because I couldn’t bear to use the horrific thing. My eyes were physically abused every time I opened the app, I felt like I had time travelled back to my 1992 paper Dollarmites statement and been thrown into the midst of the results of a badly written SQL view.
However, with the update, I now am free of the feeling of visual nausea, I can find everything I need without the slightest fear of being bombarded with more capital letters than a scam job advert on Seek, and I can once again feel confident that abandoning the paper-form obsessed Bendigo Bank won’t be the worst decision I make this decade (which really says a lot considering how many cats I have).

App desperately needs a huge redesign!
The user interface for this app is awful.. please invest some money into a decent user interface designer who can overhaul this app and actually make it convenient and easy on the eyes. Wow!
Don’t use the app
Was told by a representative that the app will be easier to use than a webpage. The app never works, don’t bother downloading.
Extremely Basic
Bank of Us provide an extremely simplistic platform. I love the functionality of being able to set up a savings goal however a lot of improvements are needed.
Suggestions
- Allow consumers to update their accounts by providing the ability to customise their account picture, increases customer engagement
- Include the goal setting functionality/oversight once you log into account. Potentially include a graph to see how you’re tracking. Fantastic for visual people. I would encourage a timeline tracker too
- Ability to customise account names
Overall, a simple platform with a lot of opportunity to grow.

I will add my vote to the desire for Apple Pay, I hear that it may be coming, and guess Apple call the shots but I hope it happens.

Love the app but
Since latest update the icon graphics on my iPad have disappeared for the app just a black and white square. App operates normally once open though please fix.
Advertising in your face
I just opened an account yesterday. Said no to all the direct email advertising. But the app is full of it. Trashy shopping trolley images full of supermarket competitions and message bribes to get me to sell the bank to my friends. Thinking of leaving already.
Completely disagree with the previous review
Love the new logo and the name seems more inviting. B&E felt tired and uninteresting but this new logo background and colour scheme is inviting. The app is great and overall I’m very happy (I like the colour scheme even as a male)
