Great App some errors
The app is fantastic. Great puzzles frim
a variety of authors. It would be helpful if all of the authors had a website or the app developers had an error submission page that could be forwarded on to the authors. I understand that this could be problematic as many users might mistake a puzzle theme for an error, but i have found a few puzzle errors (not many). Most recently in Mason Fleming’s puzzle “Songs IV” (Very Hard) 15 across is hinted as “Eagles hit” with the answer as “Hotel CaliRornia” which should obviously be “Hotel California”. There doesn’t appear to be a running theme either such as “R for F” or something that would require swapping “F”s with “R”s as this was the only misspelling in this entire puzzle. Extensive internet searches found no trace of this puzzle’s author on the web for explanation.Show lessElvisdragon

Like the crossword puzzles. I even ended up buying the commercial free version. There weren’t that many commercials but I just don’t like to see them. If there’s anything else I’m wanting I’ll look for it on my own. The commercial free wasn’t that costly anyway. I have one big complaint. You can be doing a puzzle. Not finish it, close your phone for something then go right back and your puzzle is gone. Then you have to start a new one. Plus had a lot of easy ones left that are nice when you don’t have a lot of time. All of a sudden on top of losing the puzzle you were doing almost all the easy ones are gone also. That’s two major complaints that I need to see fixed. I’m really hoping to see this fixed on my phone or I’ve been ripped off like a lot of the apps do. I must say also now that I’ve had the app for a little while I’ve had a major problem. I’ve had some times when I’ve put the right letter in and it says it’s wrong. Try and try to figure out what it could possibly be. Finally get enough of the puzzle done that I’ve just had it fill its self in. It has that feature. Or I’ve put my objection square on that square and ask for a letter. It has put in the letter I’ve tried to get it to accept numerous time. Now that’s a major screw up. You beat your brains out trying to come up with a couple of words that have the meaning with a slight different spelling for nothing.Show lessFlyinjeep
Best Crossword App
I do crosswords daily and have several apps across multiple platforms. This is hands down the best crossword app I have seen. Maneuvering and word entry is simple and straightforward. The multiple help/hint levels are easily adjustable and will be useful for those who wish to train up for higher levels of difficulty. The puzzles provided are well done and cover multiple levels of difficulty. The free version requires one to view an add after every puzzle, but the price for a non-ad upgrade is reasonable. It works on all iOS platforms and even on the small screen of an iPhone X is easy to read and use.Show lessquant
Enjoyable but not the most user friendly
I’ve played about 20 puzzles now and I like it. Sometimes, actually a lot of times there’s repeating words in different puzzles, but that’s not a huge concern. And maybe it’s just on the easy setting so far. My advice or recommendations for this is the keyboard. I really wish they would use the device keyboard instead of their own because it is just slightly different than the normal one to the point where I struggle to type lol. Also I think the organization of the puzzles should be a little better. Maybe do sub settings where you can specifically choose easy medium or hard instead of all at once. Overall I really like this app, I think it’s a much better free alternative to the big name one, fun puzzles that are challenging yet doable.
I like the variety of writers, and I like that we see who they are because I don’t understand one particular writer’s work. (Not that it’s a bad thing, it just makes it frustrating for me). The one thing I want to see is keyboard adjustment.Show lessWALKERBAITo3

I think this crossword is functionally better that the NYT Crossword app. Could be slightly more challenging in "Very Hard" I think.Acliffe
Not possible to turn off “show errors?”
I loved this app, but after the last update I noticed the option I always used to turn off “show errors” is now gone? Or has it just moved somewhere else? A lot of the fun for me in crosswords is figuring out which of several possible answers works with the other clues around it, and by showing errors in big red blocks the mystery and problem-solving is taken out of it. It’s a useful tool on a hard puzzle if I’m stuck, but I hate having it active constantly. I would love to get the feature to turn it off back!

I really like this game, there are tons and tons of really good puzzles, and they’re not all ridiculously easy like in a lot of crossword apps. HOWEVER, I wish you could rotate your device and play it in landscape orientation. I have the game for iPad and my iPad has a horizontal stand, it really makes no sense to design this only for portrait orientation! PLEASE just let me rotate the game.
Also, there are a lot of ads, and the more you play the game, the more frequently the ads start to appear. I don’t mind that you see one when you open a puzzle or close it, but like multiple times, in the middle of the puzzle, as soon as you fill in a clue, BAM. 30 second unskippable ad. I’d pay to get rid of them if it was $0.99, but $4.99 is just WAY too much. Either show fewer ads, or make it cheaper to get rid of them please!Show lessmmakkaylla

Hi mmakkaylla, thanks for the feedback. Some users have requested support for Landscape orientation and we actually have tried to fine tune the UI to support it (specially on iPad). However we haven't found yet a good way to present the grid/keyboard/clues and keep the UI easy to manage, understand and read. In this way we prefer to keep the UI Portrait only, at least for the time being. Note that we have enabled the Portrait (Upside down) orientation for iPad so that you can play the game and charge your iPad at the same time when using the iPad cover. While I’ve only done a few medium puzzles so far, I’d say you get darn near NY Times quality without the outrageous subscription prices.
I’m happy to throw these guys a few bucks for what appears to be a quality product.

I absolutely loved the old lay out and how it was. The new update is actually horrible. I don’t like the layout or the way the puzzles look now as it is hard to concentrate on and looks like every other word puzzle out there. I loved this app because it wasn’t like the others and didn’t seem as square and blocky. The new update seems very in the face and flashy. I preferred more classy setting and wish I could go back to the old updateShow lessTailz52

Six times now I’ve had to reinstall when it gets stuck in a black screen and won’t get out. So I lose all the games I played and have to repeat. Stinks! Once, I thought it was a quirk of my phone. Twice it’s the sign of a bad app. Three times, well you get the picture. Don’t press the home button when you look at preferences. It sends you to a black hole. Lame! You’re stuck and end up losing all your data and have to replay games when you reinstall. A fourth and fifth and sixth time it wasn’t even the home button, just the end of a game or middle of a game. I emailed the developer and got an email back that was nice but did not reference the fact that it’s product goes to a black screen you can’t get out of and requires app removal and reinstall action to play again.
