Barely functional
Not writing this to hate on the company, these are just things that really need to be changed because the current UI is flawed in some pretty concerning ways. 1. Changing your password while having finger print unlock enabled on an iOS device glitches out the line lock feature, while also locking down your account because the password change doesn’t account for finger print ID. You can’t turn off fingerprint unlock from the app at all, and if you change your password while it’s enabled and try to unlock the app, you will not only get locked out of your account from failed attempts but also continuously get sms telling you line lock was turned off, forcing you to delete the app and change your password again via web browser due to the finger print failing and locking you out. 2. Using your points shows up as a real money transaction in payment history. For example, if you use 1000 points, it will show up as an approved $1000 plan but with the payment option listed as “null.” Spent hours locking down my bank account thinking someone hacked my account and tried to purchase an iphone 16 since that’s the only thing in their online store for $1000… 3. Sms two factor authentication really isn’t all that hard to bypass, especially if someone has already ported your number…. There really needs to be a way to link to an authenticator. I don’t even want to admit how long I’ve endured the bulls*** from this horrible company. It’s beyond embarrassing. They basically steal your money, offer no assistance whatsoever, you can’t even receive an extension for 1 day. Boost Mobile would give you extensions, free months to assist you, and never ran out of data. I add data plans each month to my plan and run out before a week. I could purchase the $65 plan and run out of data when I have WIFI at home and when I’m working, I’m working, it on my phone. So where’s all the data. Do not get this service, I just paid off my $1500 IPhone, and stupidity purchased it through Straight Talk so looks like I’m stuck for a while because that’s a hard blow. Nothing with Straight Talk is unlimited, nor is loyalty a thing, consideration, or acknowledgment with this company. BE WISE, look elsewhere. You have service although, no internet, unable to send or receive text messages unless connected to WIFI, basically a useless device unless you have data. Purchase as much additional data as you want and it’s useless.Show lessGo back to the old app
The “new version” of the app that’s been out for awhile is abysmal. I received a random warning pop up with no context when I open the app. I have Face ID biometrics set up but it doesn’t log me in and still requires password. Fortunately I only have one device on my account because now when you refill it looks like it does every active device on the account. The “remember me” and “enable Face ID” buttons don’t do anything. Also when I receive my text that my service is renewed, it gives me the wrong date in the text. It gives me the date which the service was due instead of my new service date. Please either fix the bugs or go back to the old version. I’ve put off writing any reviews in hopes that this would get fixed, but it’s been ongoing for months. Otherwise, I’ve been with straight talk for years and years with no service issues. This bad review is related only to the app and a review for the App Store only.Show less
