Works great

Works great and no issues so far. I love the widget so I can open doors without unlocking the phone.

I wish they had an Apple Watch app though. Hope they add this in future updates.

Not working

If a hotel is using this to give keys, this needs to be super reliable and also a backup plan in case it failed. The server said they send the key, but I never receive, and no way to know what happen and just keep sending is stupid...

Great, but...

The recent addition of a widget really improved UX. It is now easier to access the core feature without having to go into the app itself.

There’s just one piece missing: Apple Watch support. I’d love to be able to leave my desk without my phone and use the Watch to authenticate/open a door.

Terrible

In my rental building, Salto pushes out a licence update every seven days, the app stops working, and you have to take it back to the building manager. If you’re out at night, you’re locked out, and no one can help. If you’re trying to leave your apartment and the licence expires, you can’t operate the lock from the outside and you’re stuck at home until your building manager’s business hours — could be days. I’m giving this up after a few months and going back to fobs — good concept, terrible execution.

Thanks for the widget

Yayyyy for the new widget! The correct version makes the system less secure, seeing as unlocking the phone is no longer needed.

I would recommend having the user unlock their phone upon touching the widget.

Hello Ma muse, Currently you can toggle wether Widgets are available when the phone is locked in Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> Today View under the Allow Access When Unlocked section. Thank you for your feedback!

Not accepted

Keys got erased from the app and there is no sign of any keys present on my phone which I wondered what happened. I daily use it to get into my home and all of a sudden it doesn’t work. This happened couple times and most of it was emergency. Thanks for the app

Hello veersai, Please make sure only a single device is being registered per phone number. Each new registered device automatically cancels any previously existing device with the same phone number. Thank you for your feedback!

Good, BUT

It works well for me, but I wish I could add my keys on multiple devices. If it’s possible, somebody tell me. Thanks!

Easy to Use and Well Designed!

App is user friendly, easy to use and designed well. I like how quickly the app opens up and shows your key right away. The option buttons on the key info is a cool feature as well that allows you to open maps to get the hotel address, call the hotel direct and also read a welcome message from the hotel. Once you press the key button and present you phone to be lock, the app communicates the progress which is an added touch. One feature that I think would be cool to add is the ability to send ad receive messages tohotel from the app and also add your key to Apple Wallet. Maybe in the future!

Always making error retrieving keys

Waste of time

Much slower than using a key fob to open doors, elevators, etc. Now I think iOS 12 has broken the app, sometimes it won’t work at all. I need to cycle airplane mode off/on now, which randomly makes it work again. Also, it blatantly doesn’t work with Apple Wallet. It doesn’t provide a virtual card to use through a double tap via the home button on your phone. Also when I attempt the use the app to unlock something, Apple Pay will randomly come up despite the fact I definitely did not double click the home button.
Very frustrating experience, would not recommend at all. If your apartment, hotel, etc has an option for a card/keyfob take it! Avoid this app at all costs! Not worth the trouble.

Hello swright8, To avoid interference with Apple Pay, the app should be in the foreground while opening the lock, otherwise it's not possible to ask Apple to stop showing the popup. iOS 12 is fully supported by the latest version of the app. While integration with Apple Wallet should provide the most natural user experience, it's a feature currently sealed by Apple for NFC purposes so we can't do anything about it right now.
