Beware the app never works
I bought this camera and was able to connect the app the first time I used it, but since then the app crashes every time. I have searched for solutions and found none. I will never by another product from this company. The app was released 9 months ago, and there are so many posts about the app not working. It is clear the manufacturer has some real issues supporting their products. Don’t make my mistake.yobobbitt
Does not connect
When application opens and connects to the camera it force closes. This application is needed to operate my Yi action cam. There is no other way to keep the application open so it connects with the action cam to make any changes. Tried reinstalling several times with no luck what so ever. Please fix! I have other Yi products and very disappointed this application does not work on my Apple XR like the rest do. Any help is appreciated.Zojoclo1
Broken and irregularly updated
The premise is great and the UI looks decent enough, however the app will randomly crash when opened, with no warning or error messages. When you do get it to work it often will not display what you're camera is actually filming, which is theoretically the entire point. Overall it's useless as it's not reliable.AzureJet
Fix for App
The App is broken, but there is a work around to keep the app from closing immediately after it is opened...it works every time for me.
I am running iOS 12.1.4 on a 6s.
Turn on airplane mode and make sure Bluetooth and WiFi are off. Turn in the YI Action Cam. Open the YI app. The app will open and stay open. You’ll be asked to connect to WiFi. Turn off airplane mode and follow the YI app instructions on mobile phone and you should be good to go. Again, this works for me every time and the app is useful for remote shots and easily downloading files to a mobile phone.
It appears that the app crashes when it sees networking is already on. YI devs are you listening? This should be an easy fix...YI Hack
Yi Action Camera App crashes constantly
Why can’t you address the constant crashing? I’m using the latest iOS 12.2 on iPhone XR, yet this app is the only app I have that won’t load.
I was attempting to show off my camera tonight but I can’t get the app to stay up. It crashes immediately most of the time, but it’ll actually load and connect to my Yi Action camera about 1 out of 15 times. It won’t last. A few minutes of running through various menu items, down again.
I’m amazed by this considering the earlier versions worked flawlessly. Are you abandoning the technology? Should we reconsider future purchases of Yi camera products? I’d honestly love to know the answers here as I’ve been an advocate for Yi products for several years.
What’s going on now leaves your customers in a position of distrust, we can’t feel good about buying products from a company that won’t dedicate resources to develop and test software paired with your cameras.
Please consider this as a request to address the issues. I’ll be more than happy to provide debug logs to help diagnose the problems.92%Dew
WHATS GOING ON
I’ve been trying to download this app and it’s bugged completely out. It downloads and for some reason it keeps taking me off the app then I used another phone thinking that maybe it was my phone but then the app does it again. I really want to download this app sense I recently got the yi action camera I hope you guys fix this issuexTHEGREATBRUHx
App crashes
I just got the camera and downloaded the app right now and the app crashes every time I open it. Within 2 seconds it closes. I don’t know how the camera is yet but the app is frustrating so far. I was only able to enter my region so far after I opened it 5 times first. I don’t even like to write reviews but this could probably help the developers fix the bug.jmarti9852
App is garbage. Keeps crashing.
Downloaded this app and it’s garbage. Keeps crashing every 5 seconds. Forget it. I downloaded, installed, installed extra about 10 times. Totally doesn’t work. Sending the camera back.
Oh and be aware. This seller needs two days for their tech support to write you back.

Constantly crashes right after launch
This app used to work fine to connect to my 4K+ camera, now it just crashes a few seconds after launching. Tried deleting and re installing app but no change. Tried connecting to camera WiFi first, it goes a bit longer but crashes again. Never can get far enough to do anything. Please fix!jwardell
It’s an action cam app not a social media
Stop forcing people to use your social media, and I shouldn’t have to press 4 buttons to use my camera. I don’t care what other people pictures or share anything.
