Avoid buying this product
If you already have, hopefully it works. I installed this light and it would not pair with my phone and the app. Defiant Customer Service said to return it to Home Depot which meant taking it down, driving to HD, getting another one and reinstalling with no assurance the blue tooth would work so I live with a light with no blue tooth. Oh well. Waste of time and money. Defiant CS said that they have received similar complaints which I why they spent all of 2 mins on the phone with me; knowing there was only one thing to do. Return it.

Have two of these on my house for about 2 years now. No issues at all not sure why all the negative reviews?
Do not waste your time!
This app is totally worthless. Standing with my iPhone less than foot from each light, and the Bluetooth feature can not locate the light.
Wish that I tested it before installation, if I had the light would be back on the Home Depot shelve and not on my house!

Its basic but works
Just installed the light. Installation could’ve been better but it works. App is pretty basic and Bluetooth limits the range. Would be better if it were Wi-Fi. But it works and gets the job done.
Bad Product
Purchased the light and the app would not allow me to setup or change settings. Finally got the light to sync but now can’t make changes to settings. Unsatisfied customer
Cannot figure this out
Cannot connect to app connected one time I said everything up we’re good now cannot connect been like this for a week tired of playing with it
The app must be fixed
I was also worried about the negative reviews but I had to play with the app a little bit and finally figured out how to turn the light off if I need to. I can also turn it on from the phone which is awesome because if I hear a noise I can turn it on from downstairs to scare away any bad guys (or cats). I love it!!

Good but needs more features
Have had two of these lights up now for almost a year and is still working well in B.C. Canada weather.
The dimmest setting is still quite bright. You will not be short on lighting with these. That being said I have a few simple requests that would enhance this app/product:
-ability to turn light on/off (enable/disable) from app.
-ability to turn off motion sensor and use it just as a security light at various light levels (in windy season keeps going on/off, would rather keep it on at a constant level).
-a setting to help aim/set sensitivity level, so it will go on/off quickly. You could walk around to find its limits quicker.
-any chance for full brightness control?

Works great very cool
Installed easily and the app works fine. The only thing I hope gets added is a way to manually turn the light on and off. I think the override that was apparently just added, only disables the automatic functioning.
Worthless!
Bought this to replace an old broken light for the eave of my home. It’s 20’ in the air, so needless to say it wasn’t a very easy install. After dealing with all that, I got the light working and was able to find it via this app. I played with the settings a little and closed the app. Ever since I closed the app, I can’t find it or sync up to the light and therefor can’t adjust anything. I’ve tried everything... now I have to climb back up to take this stupid thing down and return it. Should have know something that sounded so good would have turned out to be garbage. DO NOT BUY THE DEFIANT BLUETOOTH MOTION LIGHT.
