Terrible UI

This app is so bad, I wonder if a child coded it. No format references for payment info, so you have to guess how they want expiration formatted until it finally works. Then comes the best part, once everything’s entered correctly the app states it cannot connect to the internet. This is not possible as the device at the time had full bars of coverage and was connected to 5G, with speed tests on the device reaching over 200mbps.

Worst App Ever

Unfortunately, the parking garage at my office requires the use of this terrible App for all monthly parkers. Joyce Parking in Annapolis ditched the old parking passes for an app that only works about 30% of the time. I’ve been hearing for a year that it will get better.
The app requires location tracking all of the time. WHY???? I do not want this.
Therefore, every time I use the app I go into settings to turn this feature on/off. There is absolutely NO reason for them to have location tracking on beyond when I am actually using it to get in and out of the garage.

Amazing Experience

I had the chance to use the app recently. I felt like a VIP user. I left the garage and my payment was processed right away. Reliable and great experience. I will use this app again.

Poorly run business

Unfortunately my work has a ZipBy lot so I have to use this god forsaken company. I’ve had an open session in the app for almost 2 weeks, should be an easy fix, but it’s dependent on the company to resolve it. I’ve called multiple times, have to repeat the issue everytime because apparently they don’t keep records, sent multiple emails, no one can give me a straight answer. The customer service reps are useless, all they say is we will escalate this to the tech dept which idk if that even exists. Terribly run company, I’m sure it won’t be around for much longer.

Have you been able to contact the parking management team on site? We are just the service provider for the site. For these types of queries, you need to reach out to the parking management team of the site so they can assist in having your open session closed off. @ZipBy

Getting rid of this app - doesn’t work well

I am about to delete this app after months of use because the frustrations aren’t worth it. First, I have gotten trapped in my office parking garage twice and each time had to pay separately to get out. In one case, I am still waiting to get a refund for the double charge even though customer service assured me they would take care of it. Second, the app also behaves in very strange ways, such as periodically, converting to what appears to be Vietnamese - when I have never selected language preferences. Third, I don’t understand why use of the app requires that location identification always be on, when it’s not relevant to my use of the app that selected locations. Finally, the app advertises, but it saves money – but without notice it converted to charging me the full daily rate in my office, garage, when it used to be discounted. Why should I have to deal with all the above frustrations if it’s not actually saving me money?

Update:
Would love the developers to explain why they have to have constant access to my location if they don’t track it? Apparently the app pinged my location in the background 69 times in a three day period last week. I only used it to park one of those days.

Fake promo and garbage app

I saw a 10% off sign using this app right next to the parking meter, decided to give it a try and wasted at least 15 minutes on this without getting any value.

Why the heck a parking app needs so many personal information? Why does it needs to track my location always? Why after enabled location this app doesn’t even freaking know that I am on the parking lot? Why the payment method can’t be deleted if I decided to not use this anymore?

Each individual site may apply discounts for their parking and this is outside of ZipBy's control as each site manage's their parking facility differently, have you been in contact with the carpark regarding their discount? We are sorry to hear that you had to spend this amount of time to sign up with us. We do have a simple sign up process only requiring login details, payment details and certain permissions, so it should only take a few mins to sign up with us via the app especially if your data and mobile reception is good. ZipBy is located at several parking facilities worldwide, making it easier for you to park and pay for your sessions, and now you are already signed up it should be much easier for you. App shouldn’t require “always” location data

The app unnecessarily requires access to your precise location. This is an abuse of personal data, and regardless of the level of safety or security claimed by an app maker, it’s an intrusive practice.

It is not required for the app to function. I pay my parking then turn off the location permissions that it requires. If your phone is off/dead they cannot locate you anyway.

One of the worst apps I’ve ever used

If I could give it zero stars I would! The app doesn’t register that you have exited the garage at least 50% of the time so you get over charged. You have to call the support number and wait days if not more time until they refund you. On top of all of that the app requires that you allow it to track you at all times even when not using the app.

What a piece of rubbish. But now it has your BC and knows exactly where you are ALL times.
And notifications to boot. Just in case you didn’t have enough of them already.
