No Watch support for series 1 & 2

Saw that this was watch compatible, and downloaded it for that reason. Perhaps that support only started with watchOS 6, but I find that doubtful since it was only made available (to séries 3 and above) a few days ago. As watchOS 6 is not yet available for Series 1 & 2 watches, I’m unable to download and use it with my watch. Disappointing. While it’s important for developers to keep up to date with OS updates, and I would otherwise appreciate the timeliness, there’s no reason to drop support for a previous version of an OS when it’s not yet available for all devices that will support it. Glad I have not yet paid for this app. I don’t mind the subscription fee, as I understand the work involved in app maintenance and development, but I would have been livid if I’d been a paying subscriber and support for my watch was dropped before the watchOS update became available for me. Not exactly a fair way to handle things IMO.

Focus is available on Watch series 1 & 2. Best wishes, Jan

Can’t use anything without starting a trial

This app is literally useless without a paid subscription. The price is high for what it is, at nearly £5 per month. This is for a timer. I wouldn’t keep my tasks in it, because I have a proper task app. I wouldn’t use the “activity” report, because why would I ever need to? So literally this is £5/month for a timer. There are better free timers.

Response from developer

Hi, yes, as is stated in the description, this app requires a subscription. I can see that the price is too high, if you are only looking for a simple pomodoro timer. Focus is meant for those people who want to enter their daily tasks, work on those tasks in intervals and visualize their progress in the activity. - Best wishes, Kerstin

Trying to get money for nothing

I downloaded this app for some help with activity tracking and time management. You can basically do nothing with the free version and have to sign up for the yearly subscription of $40 (for a Pom timer) with a free trial of only 7 days. First of all, that’s just wrong. That’s just hoping people will forget to cancel. Secondly, even if you cancel on the same day it doesn’t take effect for sometime. My app somehow is charging me for the full year even though I cancelled the very same day! How do I know? I looked to make sure on SATURDAG THAT I DIDNT I HAVE ANY ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTIONS AND I DID NOT. Suddenly it shows up today as not being cancelled and is charging me for the $40. Not really sure who is at fault here, Apple or the app. I don’t think I am because I checked literally twice last week. I’ve never given a bad review for an app even if I chose not to use it. But this just takes the cake.

Shameful

Downloaded primarily for the Apple Watch. After downloading I discovered it is a pay as you go. Refuse to pay monthly or yearly! It's a timer for Pete sake.....

That's a great response; to answer, when you pay $500 for a product you expect said product to be useful and not keep incurring charges. Your business models earns millions; not specifically your brand, but the market is earns heavy. I assume based off your response your not a great company who doesn’t care of your people.

"Since the whole timer and therefore the Apple Watch app is completely free to use, we have no idea what your problem is. Is it that you don’t want to pay money for other people’s work? Or is it that you don’t want the app to be constantly maintained and developed through a sustainable business model? Speaking of shameful..."

Syncing problems

Does not always sync well across devices.
Nice idea, though, and good looking, minimalistic interface. Would be even better if it required less action from the user, similar to BreakTime. Subscription is cancelled, but the subscription will run nearly one more year, I wish one could transfer it to someone.

Sorry to hear that. Please get in touch if you need assistance or troubleshooting advice with the sync. It usually works pretty well ;-)

For people FOCUSing on pomodoro technique

Great app, helped me to master pomodoro. I was good at 25 minutes of work time but my breaks never stopped at 5. Thanks to this app, now they do!

Back in sync:
Had a bug that prevented watch and phone being in sync. Left a low rating. Got contacted by devs. Messaged them and they helped me resolve it. Don’t be like me, do message developers with any issues before leaving a low rating.

Apple Watch Issues

Apple Watch support in a Pomodoro app is a real plus. Unfortunately, the iOS and watch apps don’t sync well. Timers started on the watch often don’t sync with the phone app and vice versa. Worse, the watch timer will unexpectedly stop before the end. To be fair, I’ve not found another watch app that isn’t plagued by this problem, but developers should get it right before releasing.

I love this app

I use it for getting the house tidied. 25 mins for different tasks means that I work flat out and don’t get too bored or sidetracked. I also use this app when studying. Works really well for me. Would definitely recommend.

Terrible app and dishonest company

Signed up for the 3 day trial, but after an hour I saw that the app is not fit for purpose. There’s no way to select a task for the timer.

However, in the iTunes subscriptions manager, this company does not give any option to cancel. Also their website is down all the time. You should be removed from the App store.

Avoid this app

Response from developer

I can only assume that you've confused us with another app because none of that is the case. 1) You can start working on a specific task which will become your active one. Only one task can be active and the work time will be counted against it. 2) Our subscription is listed in the iTunes subscription manager. It's technically (for us) not possible to not be listed there. 3) masterbuilders.io is up and running and the hoster says that it was 100% in the last 30 days. 4) Please, treat everyone around you with the same respect you want to be treated with. Even on the internet. We're working hard to make this app and are thankful for helpful feedback but we also expect a certain level of decency when communicating with us. If you have further questions, please get in touch with us directly and we can help you: support@masterbuilders.io. Thanks! Best, Jan

Doesn’t work with Do Not Disturb

I’ve been looking for a Pomodoro timer to use on my Apple Watch Series 4 and I thought this app would be perfect. But then I realized the timer alarms/notifications would not sound if the Do-Not-Disturb function was used. I use Do Not Disturb to help me focus, so I am not willing to turn it off. Not being able to use it seems to negate the purpose of the app.
