Nope

As soon as I saw you had to pay I left the app and deleted it. Lots of free alternatives out there.

So buggy I can’t use it

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve started and finished a work session only for there to be absolutely no record of it. Very disappointing.
Also the app does not synchronise with my Apple Watch. The timers are often very different, and once again, sessions recorded with my Watch vanish into nothingness. Not impressed. Uninstalling and moving on.

Hi, there is a large update for Focus out now featuring a new, redesigned Apple Watch app and a new iCloud sync! Let me know if you'd like to give Focus another try! --> support@meaningful-things.com Best wishes, - Kerstin

Bait and switch!

I can’t even attest to how well this app works. I chose it because it’s listed as a free app only to download it and find out that only the 7-day trial is free and a subscription is required. An app with a free version and paid options is one thing. But an app with only a free trial is not. A. Free. App. If you want/need money, that’s fine. List the price of the subscription right there in the App Store. This has no
business being listed as free. Doing so is deceptive and trashy.

Perfect but one request...

App does exactly what is says it will do, nice synch with watch app. But please change the logo on the watch app to something other than an old fashioned desk lamp. Seems anachronistic and incongruous on a device having such contemporary industrial design

5 Stars of Hate

I will be the first to admit that like many reviews I read before downloading, ‘I HATE subscriptions!’ But I would also hate if there wasn’t a good time management app & no one is going to make one for free are they? So I joined the letters together & that made words and I read about it. I looked at the shiny photos, I read the digits & counted the coppers in my pocket & decided I would give it a 3 day trial. If I liked it (the irony is I haven’t had time), I bank the said coppers & try for a month. If it isn’t for me then, I will change my review and be fair. I will delete it and please believe me if it is just a timer or a big pile of 🐮💩 then I will let you know.
Since I was brought up by parents who were not originally related to each other, I think it’s a fairer way to review an app & on saying that, I really do need to find the time to use it properly. I suppose if I didn’t waste time ranting about people who want everything for nothing, it would be a start...

Great with a Glitch

I have been using Focus for nearly a year now and the fact I am still using it speaks volumes. It really does help me focus and to plan and track my writing projects. The only issue that informs my 4-star ranking is that it occasionally drops projects without explanation and I have to re-enter them. Thus means I lose all of the tracking data. Not sure what cause is.

Impressive customer support

I reported an issue with the app after upgrading to watchOS 6 and they fixed it within a couple of days. Was pleasantly surprised by their attention to individual customer reports.

Warning: Watch app requires WatchOS 6

…which is NOT available on Series 1 or 2 watches. Apple has said these watches released before September 2017 will get OS 6 eventually, but makes no promises when.

Meanwhile, NO WATCH APP. My watch app disappeared without warning on a routine Focus app update.

Their “support” answer? “update to watchOS 6” — which is not possible.

So I (and everyone who has a watch more than 2 years old—still well within a reasonable lifespan) am paying for an app that without warning eliminated the watch app.

For the premium prices we’re paying for what’s a basic pomodoro app, I’d expect better support and smarter releases.

Way too pricey

I would have bought this... if it was 3 times cheaper. There are way cheaper options for a pomodoro, even for >5 dollars. This is especially considering that there are even free options such as BeFocused and TomatoTimer online. Indeed, 50 dollars a year is outrageous. The devs may say that their app “streamlines” the experience and saves you time, but in reality, lemme ask you: is it worth 50$ of your money for mere seconds?

Response from developer

Hey! It's not about saving some seconds, but about a large feature set and regular updates. Our users find the features here they were missing with less complex apps. You can try Focus out during a free trial and see if its worth the price for your use case. Best wishes -Kerstin

Features not working

The app doesn’t make a sound when the timer is finished. Also can’t get to buttons to customize length according to project. The buttons are below the Start Working bar and not accessible. Focus was also showing up as a Complication to select for my iWatch, but that feature has now disappeared. The reason I subscribed was the convenience of tracking my on and off time on my watch. At this point, I’d be better off just using Alexa as a timer.
