Front runner training app, with some big bugs to work through.
I’ve had this app for a couple of weeks as I’ve been training and I just have 3 problems with it.
First, that I can’t edit a workout after it’s been added and synced, So I can’t say “no this is the activity that I want targeted!”, it picks first and doesn’t let you change it, more freedom to edit would be wonderful.
Second, you have to act like your own coach planning workouts, I can’t just say “workout tomorrow” it has to be a set amount of reps and distance, but I can’t say that because I have no idea until I’m about to do it!
Third, I can’t add an easy run after I already ran it, they won’t connect and it won’t add to my training log, instead if I push “completed easy run” it doubles my distance for that run.
Overall great app and so smart, I’m learning a lot from it and it’s good for organizing my training and keeping track, but more freedom is necessary for this app to work right. Or you have to strenuously plan, add, keep track, and try to keep up, but if you would free it up for editing on runs and workouts, it would become the greatest organization, training, coaching app out there. Good luck

Free version is useless
There are far better free websites that will give you much more info than the free version this app. You can calculate VDOT, predict race paces, find recommended training speeds and definitions for long, threshold, interval runs etc. with other free tools, but not this one. I was hoping to find that info in a convenient app that would store my personal info instead of having to input in the free site each time. But no go. I’m going back to the free tool I’ve been using.

Great app. PLEASE add Apple Watch support
I love VDOT02 and use it religiously with my coach. I hate having to own a Garmin watch just for this purpose when I use my new Apple Watch for all other fitness purposes. If you added Apple Watch, it would be an easy 5 stars.
VDOT
Excellent App!
Final surge is so much better
I can’t see the week ahead - just a bunch of dots. No sense of the type of workouts - of which there are limited options. It adds a walk to total miles. It counts cross training to miles. Seriously just lame. Why bother.
Coach....
I have the greatest coach. Her name us Tiffany Carson. She is both professional and supportive. If you have running goals, look no further. Tiffany can make your goals a reality. ,, trust me,, Gary Mellen, MD
Sadie shamsie
It has been a game changer for me! Doing intervals & speed work that I can just download to my Garmin watch & press start. I absolutely love my VDOT calendar!!
Suggestion
This app should make a way to calculate someone’s VDOT based on their runs and their heart rate during those runs.
Great Training App to Work with a Coach
This app has been great in my experience interacting with a coach and following their prescribed training plan. Even if you are on the move your coach can track your workouts and adjust your plan while communicating through the app as well. It also has a pretty accurate race calculator built in. Win win!

Incredible Benefits
Two things made VDOT an incredible experience in marathon training. First, the calendar function lets you have flexibility to schedule among daily life. When used with a coach, the communication factor within the individual workouts is also key. Second, the ability to sync to Garmin made it like carrying the coach (and workouts) on your wrist. It provided amazing benefits and maintained accountability. I look forward to my next training via VDOT.
