Missing an incredibly key feature
I’m begging you to PLEASE update your Apple Watch app so that we can reply to login requests that require us to enter a number on our Watch. It is more than possible within the confines of how WatchOS works. I try to keep my phone away while I’m working. But every time I log into any work account, I have to dig it out. There’s no reason for this! The notification shows up on my Apple Watch, and it’s very easy to enter numbers into an Apple Watch. But for some reason, you don’t let me. This is such an easy fix and would improve your product dramatically.
Other complaints:
- why does every authentication request require TEO Face ID scans? That doesn’t make sense either.
- I had to change my password recently, so to log into the Authenticator app again, I needed to get authentication codes…which I couldn’t get because I wasn’t logged in with my new password. I figured out a way around it, but it was very confusing and that process needs to be made much simpler.

Nightmare when trying to change phones.
Upgraded from an iPhone 12 to 16 and did all the right steps as in had it saved to iCloud for backup etc and followed all the steps but it just wouldn’t let me change as Microsoft authentication notifications would I imagine go to my old phone. No help whatsoever from Microsoft and oh gosh the mental pain and anguish of having it as my primary means of accessing 2SV for many many sites I was locked out of.
Please Microsoft make it easier than this or warn people you are not going to have a good time come upgrading/losing phones etc.
Had old phone become defective I’d have been completely lost. Avoid until Microsoft improve or update this crappy way of backup and transfer.

Really great app but one bug
When I want to log into Microsoft 365 through outlook, it opens through the authenticator app. But to log in I have to write the numbers displayed in the (you guessed it) IN THE AUTHENTICATOR APP. So I click “I don’t have access to the authenticator app right now” only for the only other options being more codes through (you guessed it) THE AUTHENTICATOR APP. But I can’t access the authenticator app because it being used in a seperate window to log into Microsoft 365. Please fix this bug it’s highly irritating.

This app sucks!
This app is horrible. Microsoft offers no support. I can't log into my account because I have to verify through the app. It won't let me verify until I login to my account and the vicious cycle continues.... just useless.
Mess of an app
Let me say that this app used to be good back in the day. From school to work, most places used this as the go-to authentication method. It was easy to use, but that was back then. The new authenticator is full of glitches and impossible conundrums.
To register a new account in the app it would ask for the codes that are shown in the same app but on another page, with no way of viewing them. How? Or it would ask you to approve a sign-in request without the request ever popping up. But the main thing that makes this app horrible is the lack of support. Unless you can log-in and fix the problem yourself, you’re out of luck.
I lost revenue and precious time trying to get into my work account when I knew the email and password. The authenticator app simply wasn’t working. The phone number tells you to go online. Everything online requires you to login to get anywhere. I had to request a call from the sales team(who can’t solve any issues cuz they only do sales) and beg them to help me get into contact with a tech support rep. Then it still took 2 more weeks. There’s other WAY better authenticators out there nowadays. So I wouldn’t recommend Microsoft anymore.

Invasive
I have so much disdain for Microsoft, every experience is more frustrating than the last. My company does not provide business phones but I was told by IT that there is no other option but to download Microsoft Authenticator on my personal device to sign in. I understand the need for enhanced security, but people should have options, especially when it comes to using their personal devices for work. Furthermore, I get asked to sign in 3 times in a row on every device in an endless loop of 2-factor auth calls and have missed meetings because of this. On top of all of that, this app requires push notifications to be on to work, which is just ridiculous. I know when I need to open the app and this should be the most passive app on my phone. It’s incredibly frustrating that I need to jump through hoops to use a service that has been forced on me in the first place. If you are a teams user, I promise everyone who doesn’t use teams hates meeting with you on teams. Do better Microsoft

The stupidest app
This is quite literally the stupidest app I’ve ever come across. I got logged out of my student email and my Microsoft Authenticator app when I got my phone repaired. I try to log into my student email and I have to verify it in the Authenticator app. I try to log into the Authenticator app and it wants me to verify it’s me logging in by using the very same Authenticator app that I’m trying to log into. I hit the button that says I don’t have access to my Authenticator app and it provides two solutions both of which involve using what, you guessed it, the Authenticator app. I feel like genuine rats made this app and they’re all holding the tail of the rat in front of them and they’re just running around and around in a circle of their own rat-like stupidity.
