WOW! WOW! WOW!
The game is a little bit pricey, but as far as I am concerned it was the best $10 I have ever spent on a game. The only problem I could find were some rangefinder issues, but it is not enough to take away from my overall experience of the game. If anything, it is more realistic this way. The only suggestion I could make for "improving" it would be to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add both the Italian and French Fleets and open up the Mediterranean Sea. I cannot imagine how much more exciting and challenging it would be.Show lessHellcat419282

What a let down!!
This game is top notch - when you are playing 2 player! Playing against the AI on the other hand, which the majority of the game modes is based around, is absolutely tragic. This is solely because of the rampant CPU cheating. It would easily be the game that does so more than any game I've played in 30 odd years, no exaggeration. I've had the game for nearly a year and have tried and tried to live with the ridiculous disparity but it's terrible. I keep it to play 2 player and that's pretty much it. This is awesome
This game is wonderful it is full of excitement and action . You do have to guess the rang on the guns and some of the ships armor are not realistic but other than that the game is the best mobile app o have ever had and it is great for car trips as I spent hours in the car playing single battles between the Royal Navy and the German navy . I would like to see where you have pacific fleet and Atlantic fleet the same game and when you start the game up you pick the one you want one all the best game though !Show lessjorge camoe
Excellent game, developers when's the next game/update?
I've had this game now for over a year and a half having played Pacific Fleet before hand. Excellent and very immersive.
It's good to see a return to a game which you can completely purchase rather than the 'freemium' model used on most new games.
Certainly one for the naval buffs, this is not an arcade game.
For the developers: I'm gladly looking forward to the next iteration of this game, whether it is an update improving the dynamics of the ships, the AI of the computer, adding more that 2 players, more ships from the allied and axis forces, etc. Even a return to some limited land scenarios as experienced in Pacific Fleet.
Or maybe a sequel? Delving into the Cold War.
One fix could I suggest is the Battle of Atlantic mode for the RN, after 'America enters the war' its almost too easy to win as the axis forces simply can't sink enough shipping - ends the game mode too quickly!

Disappointing in the Extreme
There has not been a decent "gunnery-oriented" naval game since Great Naval Battles North Atlantic in the early 1990's. I'd hoped AF would come close, but it is sadly lacking by comparison. With GNBNA you really did feel like you were in the Main Director. AF is just too abstracted. Also, you can only select and fire one weapon system on your ship per turn - main turrets, secondary guns, or torpedoes. How unrealistic! EG in the River Plate scenario Graf Von Spee ought to be able to split fire to engage one cruiser with each of her main turrets and the third with her secondary armament, plus fire torpedoes ALL IN THE SAME TURN. But you cannot.
Trying to use air strikes is as bad, and I never got the hang of how to attempt a campaign.
Maybe this game gets five stars from "lite" gamers but for serious naval gamers it is a major disappointment.

Great now
My review below has been fixed... there is now a clear tutorial and instruction manual and help feature. Can now really enjoy this simulation. Not for a quick fix though, it takes some effort to get into but is well worth it if you like battle sims.
But my biggest gripe, especially at this price, is that there are no clear instructions. I still don't really know what I'm doing on the Battle for the Atlantic campaign. Please just add a proper, well explained and detailed manual. It's very frustrating, and I simply cannot recommend it without one.Show lessGoonerman158
The speed difference between ships and subs is ridiculous
This is big eh for me the speed difference between ships and subs are inaccurate yes ships have a larger power source but subs were made to out run the ships and cut them off. The game only lets you move two spaces but ships get 5 that's a big disadvantage for the player and it's not a winnable situation at all they will escape before even getting a shot change this please I won't be giving good reviews.Show lessSevn8
