Does what I need it to do
I do HRV breathing meditation every night. This app does exactly what I need it to do, in a nice way.
The "chorus" ambient audio is killer. The more I listen to it the more I love it. It's become part of my practice.

Thumbs up
Great app-- I love the customizable breathing rates, sounds, colors! My only suggestion is to make the directions easier to understand. I'm a Speech and Debate teacher, and I want to share this app with my students, but the text isn't as user-friendly as it could be. Otherwise excellent, and so needed!

Great app. Missing one thing.
Please add the option for a hold at the end of an inhale and the end of an exhale. Otherwise, great app. Would need that one option to purchase.
Great relaxation tool!
I often recommend it to my patients with anxiety-it is fun and easy to use
I would ask to improve app stability--i purchased a full version, but cannot change settings, being asked to purchase it again

Stress reliever
This app is pretty great and helps me to calm down as well as take deep breaths. My only wish would be that there was a silent numbered countdown.

Simple and effective. Allows me to do scientifically-proven breathing practices with all the necessary customization in an easy to use, beautiful app.
Amazing paced breathing app
I've tried many breathing apps from iTunes and nothing comes close to this. You have complete control of the timer, which is essential in my opinion. There's also ambient sounds that are perfect for meditation and clicking sounds for a quieter experience. It's easy to use and comes with a helpful and informative tutorial. Great job.

Finally a paced breathing app that gets it
I am one of many people that has been waiting for an iPhone breath pacer that works the way I want to use it. I've used just about every breathing app in the App Store and none of them offer the features I actually want.
Kardia gets it right for two important reasons:
1. It lets me fine-tune the pace, **including the in-to-out breath ratio**
2. It provides an audio-only option so visual attention is not required.
These two features alone make it worth the $2 the app costs. Everything else--touch-based settings changes, automatic pacing changes to reach a target pace, a beautiful and simple visual pacer, and several other features--simply adds value to the package. I hope development continues to improve the app, but it is perfectly adequate for what I want exactly as it is.
I make a living by teaching clients how to use breathing to improve their lives, and one of my greatest frustrations has been a lack of a solid tool to send them home with to implement what we cover in session. Kardia has just filled s huge hole and I will be referring a lot of people to this app in the near future. I am a very happy user.

I've downloaded dozens...this is the best
The developer of this app has created the combination of sounds and visuals which make the experience of breathing deeply one of pure elation. It's like listening to Beethoven's ninth, you know the parts where you get chills. My biggest fear is that people try it and get confused by the controls. The functionality is simple, but the developer needs to put the instructions right in your face when you open the app instead of as an afterthought after several pages of reading. As well, in a new version i'd love to see this app work with my phone locked so that I can continue to pace my breath without running down my battery as much.
