The tech that installed the system didn’t know how to use it. There is no user guide apparently. You also have to install Google Home. Why? I tried adding my wife as an admin user. Gave up after Google had no idea what I was trying to do. I think ADT is almost finished. I suggest any alternative. They have been to the house 3 times and the system is still not working as promised. Not paying a dime until it does. That probably means it will be free and worthless.
We can have our back door open and the app will show it as locked? You have to restart the app anytime you want to check the cameras. If you don’t it just gets stuck buffering. I don’t have a lot of confidence in the smoke, glass break, CO, and motion detectors when they can’t even get the locks right.
Do not trust ADT or the contractors they hire to do their work for them.
When my wife approaches the door the system says she is an “unrecognized face”. I don’t know how because she is in and out all of the time.
What it does mean is that the system is trying to identify anyone who comes to my door. That is troubling. Even when it generally fails.
There is no way to disable that “feature”. I put tape over the lenses and have asked for a refund for those components.
And don’t even try to call and make a payment. They were using a bad card number for me. I tried to fix it and was on the phone with 3 different people for at least 45 minutes.
They told me they had corrected it but the app still says the account is past due. My bank recorded the payment.
Let’s just hope that there is never a fire or break in. They will take an hour to respond.

Great System
So far, I absolutely love the alarm system. Easy to set and disarm. The cameras are fantastic with great night vision and wide angled. Great customer service as well.

Not very helpful
Makes me re-log into Google every literally every other time I open the app. Slow to load the cameras and some cameras are blurry compared to the Google home app.

When I first started using the app, I was able to set a specific sound to go off along with my arm and disarm notifications. When I set my alarm to “away”, the countdown to arming was thankfully SILENT. Then ADT updated the app, and now when I set my alarm to “away”, I am stuck with the sound I set for notifications going off for each and every second of the damn 60 second arming countdown. If I turn it off, I don’t have sound for the armed and disarmed notifications! What obviously oblivious individuals at ADT thought that would be a great idea? The armed and disarmed notification sounds do NOT need to , and should not be, tied to the arming countdown!

The app makes it convenient for you to control your system and it tells you the details behind an movement or tampering of sensors- I do wish you could purchase items in this app - but overall I would recommend

Constantly sets alarm to stay even though I’m pressing away

Terrible Service
ADT+ no longer meets today’s expectations of a good security company. Also there’s a fee of $22.49 just to cancel your ADT Service.
Time delay
I love everything about ADT for the exception of the Time delay on video by the time I get video someone could be in my apartment or in my house and gone by the time I get the video there’s something you need to work on the delay of the video transaction

App works poorly with my Google cameras. Also the recent update to require my gps location to be always shared is a no go. I will no longer be using the app. Another reason I won’t be using this company when the agreement ends.
Complete Trap: Cheap Equipment, Broken Apps, and 3-Year Contracts
I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel a strong obligation to warn others to stay far away from ADT. Once you sign up, you are locked into a rigid 3-year contract that they use to force you to stay because their actual service and product quality are terrible. I am honestly considering paying off my entire 3-year balance right now just to be done with them.The issues are endless:The Equipment: The hardware is cheap. The only decent parts are the Google Nest cameras, but ADT isn't even properly integrated with them. You are forced to pay for a completely separate Google subscription just to save your video recordings on top of what you already pay ADT.The Software: The app experience is completely broken. You have to juggle multiple separate apps just to manage different basic features of your security plan, and the billing system frequently gives you issues when trying to make standard payments.The Contracts: They lock you down because they know no one would willingly stay with this level of service.Better Alternatives:If you want a reliable home security system, look elsewhere. For example, systems like Cove use Eufy products which are incredibly high quality, don't require forced monthly subscriptions to function, and allow you to cancel at any time if you aren't satisfied. Avoid ADT at all costs.
