First trust is so behind the times the app is very basic and can not add a new payee without card reader, it’s 2025!!
Absolute rubbisj
Ever since aib took control of First Trust Bank it has just got worse and worse. The app being a perfect example. It takes so long to open due to "extra security" and to acknowledge that i need to approve an online payment, that i've been timed out on my payment by the time the request appears on the aib app. Been intending to switch banks for ages but going to do it next week! Aib is rubbish!

Hate this app can’t do anything on it everything requires going into the bank or going onto the website. Cant do anything directly
Just too hard…
Been struggling with this app for years…now so bad I’m going to change banks. I recently changed my iPhone and the app asked me to use a card reader and insert my credit card…who still has a credit card reader?…fortunately I had, and was able to jump through the AIB hoops, but that wasn’t enough, they then wanted a security update before I could access my account. Ok I tried that, but then we just went round in circles with the app saying security update failed!!!
