Outright false store listing
App page says it does not collect *any* information which obviously could never be true but is deliberately misleading and false. App collects device identifiers, requires you to take photos with the phone itself, and for loss protection requests and collects persistent location information.
App rarely works
App is updated. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. Can’t get past the loading screen. Worked great when I registered and paid. Hasn’t worked several times spread out over several months since.
Lost AirPods, replaced asap
I lost my AirPods and got in touch with support super quickly and easily and they were so helpful. And I just switched to a new iPhone and was able to add it to my account so easily.

Deceptive Data Practices
App Store page claims this app does not collect any data while in fact it collect huge amounts of personal data, to whit, to use theft protection, Akko requires persistent background location permissions.
Not recommended
I doubt that they will actually pay claims based on how poor their app and overall service seem to be so far.

Location Permissions
I have no idea if this company pays claims or not, I never made it that far. What I do know is that during setup they request always on location services. I don’t know how this company stores user location data or if they sell it to supplement the bottom line or maybe they protect it. Who cares, I don’t need another company tracking my every move. Be better.

First time downloading it only because my plan was offering it and I can’t even take a picture of the phone without it defaulting to a landscape picture. Right off the back app experience is horrible
Good value
I’ve had AKKO for several years now, haven’t found any service that will insure your cellphone, laptop, smartwatch, headphones, and more for only $15/month. The couple claims I’ve had have gone smoothly also. When my Oura ring broke they paid me $400 to put towards buying a replacement.
Waste of money
Too many hoops to get protection. Requires pictures of each device front and back, serial numbers, police reports for lost/stolen (police don’t issue reports for lost items) if you don’t upload the pics exactly as they like you get denied.
Claims
Don’t add this insurance. The waste of time and money. And nothing done..
Unhelpful
Akko likes to take all your money and make claims take too long and complicated till the point you have to pay out of pocket for a repair and then they do not refund you. Also when canceling a subscription they will force you to pay for the next billing period instead of allowing you to cancel it immediately. I have had akko for a year. I have paid $10 a month and have had two broken devices. I have made two claims this year and did not receive any help for either of them.

Terrible service
They have unrealistic hoops for service processes and it goes against how my phone manufacturer (Apple) recommends. Stay far away from this company. Bad service
App slow and crashing
App keeps crashing. What is going on with this?
Don't Let The Negative Reviews Fool You
I've had Akko for a few months and was very skeptical because of the negative reviews. Well, i had a crappy accident with my Canon lens while working which resulted in damages near $600. After filing a claim, I provided all the requested information and a receipt once the repair was complete. I paid a small deductible and they covered the rest! Yes! So worth it. You cant beat this insurance.

SCAM
This company seems legit at first but they do not respond to customer service. They charged my card after canceling A YEAR AGO, and I am unable to cancel my subscription and receive a refund through the app (website as well) due to glitches or bugs that make it seem like the app is crashing? Ironically, a similar situation happens on their website.
