Beware

This app sounds promising, but is not worth it. I emailed them prior to being seeing to be sure my insurance was accepted, they said it was. I had 3 appointments and was then told that my insurance did not cover the costs. It was near impossible to get ahold of someone because the phone would just ring and go to voicemail and if you message through the app, they can respond and close the message so you have to start all over again. Then I was charged twice $149 for the monthly membership fee when I never signed up. Try another app.

Highly recommend for all women

The app is exceptionally user-friendly. Being able to schedule appointments quickly (skipping long wait times) and consult with a qualified professional from home has been a total game-changer. The doctor I saw is incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and made me feel genuinely supported throughout my health journey, which stands in stark contrast to my previous experiences elsewhere. Every woman should use Allara.

Multiple cancelled appointments

I signed up for this based on a recommendation from a friend. The whole point for me signing up was to be seen by someone sooner than the many months waitlist for the doctors around me. I have been subscribed for weeks and have yet to see someone. I’ve had two appointments canceled at the last minute for no reason. This is very disappointing.

Very disappointed

So disappointed in my experience. Provider changed dose of medication, doesn’t even remember changing the dose until I reminded her that she did (umm maybe read your notes before getting on a zoom call with me from your living room?) then doesn’t respond to pharmacy requests regarding the dosage change. Despite multiple messages over several days, this issue still has not been resolved and I am now out of medication, which is extremely detrimental as I am very sensitive to hormonal changes. So incredibly disappointed and this has turned me off of virtual care forever.

Improved over the years

There’s been definite improvements over the years to become a better than women’s health app. I would love the ability one day to place the recipes we favorite into creating meal plans with or with our dietician support. Also to have it feed into a shopping list

Disappointed

I was excited to have a great doc who cared but you can’t get in touch with a human at all after a visit. My meds were no longer available and no doc or Allara ever called me back. I requested via messages to have them change the dose or call me to get the med, no one ever did. They charge a lot for a service they are barely available. It is disappointing bc I loved the doc during the visit

I feel tricked and now owe $

When I uploaded my insurance information into the app, they said “great news, we take your insurance”. I felt, how lucky! Now I can get the care I need. I just checked my email, and received a notice saying that, although they take my insurance, they don’t take my particular brand of insurance. Why wasn’t that discovered in the first place, I’ve had 3 visits so far! So they are going me a “courtesy” of charging me $125 for my session instead of 150. I now know I’ll have to expect another $300 in bills to arrive shortly.

Be Wary

This company advertised that they take my insurance, took my information, let me book and have my first appointment, and then sent me a full price bill of $400+ for a 20 minute virtual appointment with no remorse. Once I canceled my next appointment, they are now all of sudden offering a $140/month unlimited without insurance (??) but the trust is already gone. Unfortunately I did really like my doctor and was looking forward to working with her.

Allara is a scam

The app itself is fine, not especially user friendly but gets the job done I guess. As far as the services Allara provides, nothing beyond what a standard provider can offer despite promises of digging into hormonal health issues. They also claim to be totally covered by insurance but then will hit you with $100s of dollars of bills months later.

Auto charged without notice.

I commented on an instagram post and was blocked. Allara will charge you for your visit without notifying you and will take your money without any notice. They will allow you to do your medical visits, saying your insurance was accepted, and then they will send you a bill and auto charge you in 3 days, even if you contact them to set up a payment plan. Be aware that once they have your credit card information they will use it without your consent. This is the second time I have been charged out of the blue and now have to file disputes against Allara health. Would not recommend using at all. Seek a private doctor instead.

Do not recommend

Completely disappointed in the services provided by Allara. No one on their support team can provide the proper answers or are consistently providing conflicting answers. It’s impossible to just contact my provider directly and it’s been over 2 months trying to get my prescription prescribed to me with Allara not providing any actual assistance. I really wanted to love Allara because of the ease of use and having a provider easily accessible but I do not recommend using Allara.

App doesn’t work

This is specifically about the app, but you’re unable to log in on the app making it unusable. It just circles back to complete profile over and over again despite having an active account.

Not worth it / waste of time and money

Didn’t get anywhere in my health process, didn’t learn anything new about my existing issues , no new insights on my test data ( I tested too soon which no one warned me about and I explicitly stated I didn’t want to do ) then I asked for a refund 2 days after I was charged and didn’t refund me . Wasted 3 months of the monthly fee at $150 just to be ill advised, annoyed and overcharged . Super disappointed with my experience, customer service was unreasonable regarding refund

Doctor notes open to error

I am just starting with this program and was happy to find the app. But, I cannot open the care notes in the app and had to delete it so I could open the notes on the website. I get a note about type ‘string’ is not a subtype o type ‘map<String, dynamic>’ in type cast. Hope this helps so I can use the app!

Unprofessional care and terrible support

I joined for hormone support and the experience was awful. The provider was unprofessional. My concerns were not properly addressed, and the only recommend recommendation was omega-3. support is also very hard to reach for cancellation. DO NOT MAKE A MEMBERSHIP!

Happy Patient

I have been a patient with Allara for almost 2 years. I came upon them searching for a telehealth endocrinologist and loved that they address so much more! I have an Endocrinologist, my OB/GYN, and a Nutritionist. I learned so much about my hormones, and how my body is changing. For a busy working mom, Allara is perfect for me!

Horrible App

There is always a glitch with this app. Trying to get help and communicate with your provider requires a bunch of steps instead of having an option to directly contact them. Very mediocre explanation about your results & next steps.

Not Transparent about billing

Unfortunately I had a bit so great experience. I really wanted to like Allara’s Dr’s & NP’s, however I was left frustrated and felt blown off once again. I’ve been dealing with hormonal symptoms for some time, my GP totally ignored my plea for help so I came to Allara thinking they’d be helpful since that’s what they claim they actually specialize in. Unfortunately I waited a month to see if my health insurance covered the visits, ALLAR ASSURED ME THEY DID. I did a huge lab work up, then the NP told me I needed to see one of their nutritionists as Allara is a whole body wellness plan. So I booked it, saw the nutritionist, which didn’t show me anything new or helpful- then Allara sends me a text saying I owe them for the visit because my insurance didn’t cover it! Hahahaaaa! You’re kidding me right! After I asked numerous times about coverage and waited a month for a response! Wow! No thank you! Just watch out and make sure your NP doesn’t reel you in under the guise that it’s all part of the same process. This was deceiving and unclear.

What a joke

I really thought this app and the services were going to be the answer for me. These people lure you in to get a few hundred bucks and then leave you for dead. Once I realized that, I canceled any future appointments I had to save the money. Then I got an email asking me for feedback. It went ignored for several days and then I got a response that was unhelpful and they closed the ticket so I couldn’t respond. They don’t care about people, they just want money.

App login busted & the amount of time it takes for an online platform to reply back is laughable

I’ve consistently had troubles with logging in app, and there are inconsistencies between the web version and the app. When it was time for my appointment I was not able to login to the app so I turned to login on the browser and it would not show me the appointment.

I have been trying to get help for 6+ months for my condition and I get no help. For a platform that is entirely online you would think that they would respond faster , but for some stupid reason the message you send to your provider is first sent to a concierge team who actually intercept and forward your
message to the provider. Why I can’t just directly message our provider is wild and does not make any sense.
