bug
i cant update profile picture or background photo i click the pencil and nothing happens
Useless
They have my music. Apparently, an Instagram or (god forbid) “X” account are required for some foolish reason to authenticate my claim. I am the artist. I linked the distributor. Why, in the name of anonymity, do I need an “official” social media presence? I only want to track sales and streams. That’s it. Presumably, actual humans revue these submissions. But, guess what? They don’t provide any email contact. Useless.

App not working
I can’t edit anything
Can’t login
I can’t log into my account even though I use the right email and password. After the puzzle it says “There was a problem. Your password is incorrect.” IT IS NOT INCORRECT. I can sign into Amazon online perfectly. Then if I reset my password in the app, it says “There was a problem. Internal error. Please try again later.” It’s been going on for a few weeks already. Please fix it. I just want to login on the app. On the Amazon for Artists website everything works just fine, but it’s the app that’s not working for me.

App is rendered useless by inept claim model
It’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than it is for an indie artist to claim their profile on Amazon Music. Dealing with support may give you an ulcer. It’ll definitely make you dizzy from being sent in circles.
The claim process is very limited.
1. They want you to provide a social media account that actually shows the email you’re using to claim but only give two options, Instagram and X. I don’t use ANY social media platform that displays my personal email to the public.
2. Provide your management company (I assume they mean distributor), but they only give Distrokid, Tunecore, and CDBaby as options.
3. There is a text field with a limited character count in which to provide more information but space is, again, extremely limited. Paste a URL or two and you run out of space.
Once you hit Submit, you’re given a warning that since you didn’t choose the limited options they provided, your chances of being denied have greatly increased.
Then, the wait. I was lucky. I only had to wait less than a week to get the email that I didn’t provide enough information of course. I’ve read plenty of artists complain that they waited months, even over a year.
You’re not given an avenue to submit “more” information. You’re just sent back to the beginning with the same options to resubmit the same information.
Contacting support thru the app takes days, and for some, weeks, months or no response at all. They only respond when you’re asleep with the same boilerplate response to choose the limited options.
And there you continue your ride on the hellish “customer service” carousel.
Even if you provide links to your successfully-claimed artist profiles on every other streaming platforms, including SoundCloud (which is suggested by those who have been successful), there is no guarantee that it’ll work.
Until you’ve claimed your profile, the app is a waste of space on your phone. Use the desktop web version.
Good luck.
