About

You wake up holding a feeling you cannot name. A bridge over a river of stars. A friend you have been avoiding. Keys slipping out of your hands, and you were not even worried. Within minutes, it dissolves. Animus catches it. Say the dream or type it, the moment you wake. Animus turns it into a clean journal entry, reads it in the framework of Carl Jung, the psychologist who spent a lifetime mapping the unconscious, and paints it. A READING WITH NOTHING TO SKIP No retelling. No dictionary of what water means. The reading says what these figures and images mean for you, refers lightly to your earlier dreams when something returns, offers one hypothesis about your waking life to test, and gives you one thing to notice or try. It ends on a single line to carry through the day. As long as the dream deserves, and not a sentence longer. A JOURNAL THAT LEARNS YOU Before the reading, one question at a time, tell it how the dream felt, what was on your mind the day before, and what its people mean to you; it names them from your own dream. What you say shapes the reading and is never quoted back at you. Afterwards, say whether it landed and write what you think it means; later readings listen. Your patterns appear in plain sentences, drawn from the feelings you tap. YOUR JOURNEY, AND YOU Journey shows your seasons as a river of cards, each with its own glyph and the threads that run between them, and your figures inside: the people, places and symbols that keep returning. When a season has passed, ask for its reading: what a whole stretch of nights was working on, together. You holds your profile, your patterns and your dream world, the moods beneath your dreams and the symbols that keep returning, in one place. A PAINTING FOR YOUR DREAMS Any dream can become a painting. Add one photo of yourself if you like, and the artist paints you into the scenes where you appear. The photo itself is never kept. SHARE ONE, OR THE WHOLE YEAR A dream becomes a card you can save or send. Your paintings gather into a Dream Quilt, one image stitched from your nights. A BOOK, NOT A DUMP Export a dream as an Animus page, or the whole journal as a book, in PDF, made on your phone. Your words are also yours as Markdown and JSON, any time. WHAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE Readings are written by OpenAI's GPT-5.6; paintings by Google's Gemini on its paid tier. One screen in the app says exactly what is sent where, in plain words. Backups are encrypted with a key we never receive. No advertising. No tracking. No selling of data. We do not use your dreams to train any model. FREE, HONESTLY Every reading, your figures and patterns, and export are free, with eight paintings a month. No ads. No catch. If a dream shows real distress, Animus does not interpret it. It points you to help instead. Made by one person who records his own dreams most mornings.

What's New in Animus

1.0.5

Fixes a crash at launch on iOS 27. A reading never gets lost. If the app is locked, backgrounded or offline while the analyst is writing, the reading is waiting when you come back, and Try again picks it up instead of starting over. The analyst's voice has changed. What you said a figure means to you stays private and is never quoted back at you. Earlier dreams are referred to lightly, without dates or counts, and the reading keeps to the point. Two new tabs. Journey shows your seasons as a river of glyphs, with the threads that run between them and your figures inside. You holds your profile, your patterns and your dream world in one place. Before the reading and About you are now one question at a time, and the questions name the people and places from your own dream. Smaller things: the opening quote stays on screen a moment longer, and offering a photo of yourself for the paintings opens the camera straight away. Animus now requires iOS 16.
