What's New in AppWork

8.38.1

September 14, 2026

Location AppWork now records where you are when you sign in or complete a task if your employer enables it, and it only happens while the app is open, and it never runs in the background. You'll see a screen explaining all of it before your phone ever asks for permission. Syncing Syncing stopped being a mystery. The app used to leave you guessing whether it was actually pulling anything down. Now it says "refreshing," upgrades to "still refreshing" when it's taking a while, and lands on "up to date" or "couldn't refresh" so you know where you stand. Settings shows the same status, and if a refresh fails you can keep working and try again later. Work Orders Grab a pile of work in one go. Bulk self-assign now works on the Open Other unassigned work orders view. Claim several at once instead of tapping through them one at a time. Unit Info knows when to sit down. Work orders that aren't tied to a specific unit no longer show an empty Unit Info section. If there's nothing to say, it says nothing. Dates that turn red when you push them backward. Change a future date to one in the past and it goes red. Hard to miss, which is the point. Notifications Get pinged when someone tags you. Tagged in a work order comment? You get a push notification, and tapping it drops you straight into that work order. Notifications for the last tech signed in behave now. Tapping a notification meant for a previously signed-in tech used to open the work order anyway. Now you get a prompt instead of someone else's task. Refrigerant Logs Refrigerant weights stop at two decimals. Both the Tech App and the Admin Portal now cap the weight field at two decimal places, and the decimal handling in refrigerant logs is fixed. Compliance records shouldn't argue with a calculator. Odds and Ends Asset tracking has something to say when it's empty. A proper empty state instead of a blank stare. Cards line up again. Work order card icons align correctly when there's no priority badge, and task card strokes are consistent across the board. Inspections got a little breathing room. Small spacing cleanups. You'll feel it more than you'll notice it. Bug Fixes The call recording download button stopped lying. It used to sit there looking clickable when the recording wasn't ready yet. Now it waits its turn.
