They don’t remove anything
So how it works is they scan and give you a to do list. The to do list is also not doable as most of the list has no idea what site your information came from. It’s just an endless long list of data breaches you can’t do a darn thing about it. I contacted them and they said…yup, that the way it works. So yeah…it’s like doctor diagnosing you with lots of diseases but you can’t know where or what they are.

What does Aura actually do?
As far as I can see they only provide the broker sites for you to have opt out of everything. They don’t do it automatically like other apps do such as Cloak. With Cloak you just have to give them all your emails you used, all the home addresses you have have (which by the way this Aura only allows you to enter one home address) all the phone numbers you have or had and they automatically remove you from all broker sites. Aura should be paying you not the other way around because you yourself are doing all the work. Not satisfied with this service

Someone hacked into my Aura account
Not safe. Within 3-4 hours after setting up Aura, someone hacked into the Aura app and changed my personal information.
Missing Passkey Support
Aura is a really strong tool for identity protection and, in many ways, the clear choice if you want identity monitoring, data removal, and password management bundled together—especially for a family.
What holds it back from a five-star rating for me is the password manager. When I use Aura as the integrated password manager on my iPhone, it repeatedly asks me to sign in again, and it also lacks passkey support.
The repeated sign-in issue may be something I’m doing wrong; I haven’t researched it nearly as much as the passkey limitation, and ultimately it’s more of an annoyance than a dealbreaker. The lack of passkey support, however, is what had me looking at alternatives today.
For the growing number of services that support passkey sign-in, Aura essentially leaves you to fend for yourself. That has become the biggest pain point for me. As a Linux user, I’ve yet to find a good workaround, so I’ve had to fall back on my not-yet-expired Keeper subscription.
I don’t really want to leave Aura, but this problem is only going to become more significant over time as passkeys become more widely adopted. There are workarounds, particularly if you use only Windows or macOS, but if I’m already paying for a password-management solution, I don’t want to have to cobble together multiple services just to get complete functionality.
One of Aura’s biggest selling points is that it is supposed to be a seamless, bundled solution. My Keeper subscription expires in January, and if I have to renew it just to get proper passkey support, I may end up canceling Aura altogether.

Trapped?
Once you get this, unless you are a computer wizard you can’t get off. They give you instructions that don’t work. If you turn it off, it blocks your calls. That happens even when you are paying them. I’ve lost many doctor calls, labs, and appointments. I just had open heart surgery and I don’t want this App anymore. But I can’t seem to get rid of it. And they trap you, saying if you turn them off, your calls may not go through. So, I’m left with getting a new phone number, or I will not get the phone calls I desperately need need. Not fun. No bueno.

Updates on iPad
Impossible to do the updates! Need to sign out of aura, sign in again. Sign out of the app update, sign in again. It goes on forever. Forgot to include shutting down, then rebooting the iPad and phone. It ends up taking 15 to 20 minutes to get the update done

3 accounts while never signing up
I tried to sign up for the 2 week free trial then to do monthly. Somehow 3 of my emails have been used when I just learned of the site today, and it’s now on an annual subscription when I tried so many times to put it on monthly but I would put it monthly and they would say oh you have an account… brand new email had an account when I tried to put it on monthly

Not much happening. The app disappeared from my Samsung S10+. I don’t know what’s happening on this phone.

Won’t transfer passwords to my other devices. Online help directs me to functions that do not exist in the app. I’m cancelling.

If you have a child with an iPhone make sure they cannot access the private webpage! You can still get around the app and view explicit content!
