Love B-HYVE
Because of water restrictions we can’t always water. We love having the ability to pause programs when we are traveling. We also love being able to water via our phones.
Note: Program is easy for my wife to adjust. My wife has fibromyalgia and struggles to focus. She gets frustrated with tedious tasks. She’s not frustrated with B-HYVE and that makes us happy.

Simple
This is by far the simplest way to get started on an automated watering schedule.
Reliability is lacking
The device works based on a weather forecast, which is spotty to say the least.
I often notice that the “weather forecast” is nowhere near actual conditions. This results int he schedule being turned off, and plants not watered

Amazing product. My whole house is set up with this system, and I love it! One option that I wish it had would be Bluetooth mode for when the Internet’s not working but other than that, it’s great!

My B-hyve watering system is convenient and dependable. It allows us to leave for vacation without having to bother anyone to water my plants.
Skips watering for plants under roof
Even basic programs will automatically set rain delays on all channels even if you set them to get no rain, ex: Drippers for flower boxes under a roof. -1 star for this reason only, otherwise great!

Elegant and simple solution
The B-Hyve has been a good idea for setting up a remote watering station to fill a water feature. Easy to set up, program and use, I appreciate no subscriptions are needed.
Great but needs combined stations
Lots of good things about this app but it needs a bit of re working. I have two stations (front and back yards) and they’re completely seperate on the app. This is a problem because they pull from the same water and if they run at the same time then neither gets enough water pressure to run correctly. Not to mention it makes it much harder to accurately set up the stations.

This is a good option for automatic water system, works well. I love the app use and how easy it is to use. The only negative is that the batteries run low fast so you have to change them frequently.
Changing our life at the cottage
We have a cottage which the B-hyve works great for. We can see how the sprinklers are working while at home and make adjustments from the cottage dinner table. Love this system.
Dual locations
It really is convenient to monitor both locations and to be able to monitor water usage
Not worth the money.
Very frustrated with this system. It shuts off randomly and disconnects. It’s unreliable. We purchased this system so that we could travel and know that our garden was being watered. The ap won’t notify you if there is a problem. The garden just doesn’t get watered. We will likely have to replace this system.

Broken Alexa integration summer 2026
I've been a happy B-hyve user for quite a while, but the Alexa integration appears to be broken now.
My Gen 2 Smart Hose Timer and Wi-Fi Hub are both online and work perfectly through the B-hyve app. However, under Account → Alexa Device, the app is supposed to let you select your timer for Alexa. Instead, it only displays a blank white box, making Alexa setup impossible.
I've spent hours troubleshooting. Nothing fixes it.
I've also found multiple recent reviews from other customers reporting that Alexa integration has stopped working, so this doesn't appear to be an isolated issue.
The hardware is great, but one of its advertised smart-home features no longer works. I hope Orbit acknowledges the problem and releases a fix soon. Until then, I can't recommend this app if Alexa integration is important to you.
