Clunky report entry

BART usually responds to reports made here which is good. However it’s difficult to make a report. It takes forever to enter the info quickly. I wish i could just enter the car number and write the report.

Excellent app

I had homeless gentleman that was smoking crack pipe on the train. Report it on the app at Montgomery bart station and they arrested the guy at lake Merritt, only couple stops down the line.

Works sporadically

1-expecation to take a photograph of troublemakers is ridiculous.
2-as with SFPD expected to answer 1000 descriptive questions about the type of moustache perp has.
3-all it should take is a location and just go down there/enter the car and you’ll see what we’re all seeing.

And many times it does not transmit even when wireless is working fine on phone.

Speedy response

I filed a report and BART police promptly responded.

Helpful app

I really appreciate this app. BART staff always respond promptly. Thank you!

Logo is too big…

If you make it smaller or hidden it would be better so the person next to you can’t notice.

Fast response time! Essential app for any BART rider.

Used it a bunch of times to report mostly minor code of conduct violations. BART staff showed up within 5 minutes in all cases. Two violators got tickets. The third got a warning. In one case they made a radio announcement to get the person to stop playing loud music on their phone.

This app is indispensable for any BART rider. Do not ride without having it installed!

BART Police App

I ride BART regularly and report issues via the app when they rise to a level of potential harm to the safety of the rides. Whenever I submit a report, I try to be specific as possible to assist BART Police. However, I always get a reply asking me to describe the gender, clothing, height, weight and race of the perp. My most recent report described the perp as “him”, gave the color of his clothing and his location within the car but I was asked about gender and clothing. I recommend that you make it a priority to get an officer on the train, rather than a back and forth of texts, requesting more info, when BART clearly has enough. Would you have me go interview the perp, asking him for his full name, DOB and SSN?

Works horrible in tunnel and tube

There needs to be some sort of deal to treat reports with high priority data like a 911 call. Someone could die before a picture is uploaded

If you like to answer endless inane questions

If you like to answer endless inane questions from some bot taking reports, this is the app for you.

“A man in a red shirt is smoking meth and twirling a machete on the train.”

“Please better describe the shade of red. Please provide us with the color and manufacturer of his shoes. Please tell us the suspect’s mother’s maiden name. Please tell us if he’s wearing a belt and what material…”
“He has now started a fire and appears to have chopped off someone’s arm. Please send help!”

“Thank you for your report. In order to respond, we will need further suspect description. Is the baseball cap an adjustable size cap or a fitted cap? How many nose hairs are visible from each nostril…?”

Unfortunately this is similar to the kind of the experience I’ve had with BART police. I once exited a car to immediately encounter two officers. I told them that I had just seen a man with a concealed handgun on the car 15 feet behind me, and that he was still there and I could show them. They proceeded to lecture me on how open carry was legal. It was not and is not. Further, the handgun was was concealed. In the meantime while they were lecturing me, the train doors closed and the train left with the armed man inside. Brilliant.

Useless

Officers don’t usually show up and when they do it’s well after the fact.

No response

No response and problems all the time. Keep non paying people in non paying areas. No pay no ride

Poor response from BART

I have never seen BART police address the problems I have reported.

What a joke of application

Reported a homeless sleeping taking two sits, with all his bags while people were standing up on rush hour and I got a response that it was not illegal to sleep on the train. As a paying traveler this is not what I want to deal with when riding bart. Bad service, not surprise people does to want to ride the trains.

Great app for utterly useless replies

What’s the use anymore?

People hop over the gate for free and proceed to literally light up inside the moving trains… every day… right under the camera.

If you’re lucky they’ll even smoke some crack right next to you and complete a drug deal.

I’ll give them credit, they know they won’t get caught, so why not.

Buen trabajo

Increíblemente esto funciona muy bien; hice mi reporte y en 4 minutos ya estaban los señores oficiales !! Ben trabajó !! Felicidades

Too much to sift thru

Easiest way to “say something” when you “see something” but menu seletions can create unnecessary hurdles - take up too much time &
NOW SUGGEST -“May be of interest” category

Does anyone read these reports?

I’ve been hauled off a train by BART police for carrying a tank for frozen semen, sitting there quietly and behaving myself. People smoking (cigs and all manner of drugs), today a dude blocking the aisle and antagonizing passengers? Nada. This is why I hate BART. This is why I want to drive every day.
