Terrible service
Horrible service. I had a bike break on me, reported it immediately and now I am unable to use the app as they are trying to "recover the bike". I call them to explain the situation and they simply tell me they will follow up and do nothing. This is beside the fact that there is consistently no bikes available and they are often faulty. They are lucky there is little to no competition as their service is genuinely atrocious.

App is unusable
I have an account that I haven’t used for a while so I need to reset my password. However, every time I try to click “Forgot Password” in the app, the app freezes. I guess I can’t log in or check out any bikes. Seems like they should address this issue but the app has been glitchy for years and hasn’t really improved at all.

Unreliable!
Listen, I love the Bcycles just as much as the next guy. They’re fun to ride, quick, and a nice alternative to buying a bike (and likely getting it stolen here in Madison). There’s stations in lots of convenient spots around the city which makes them convenient and reliable—until they’re not. I find that about 75% of the time when I want to unlock a Bcycle I encounter some kind of issue. Whether it’s something mildly inconvenient, like the app not loading unless I close and reopen it multiple times, or something that completely hinders my travel plans, like the docking stations not appearing on the app, the app not registering Bcycles when there’s MULTIPLE charged ones on the docking station, or the bikes being unable to discharge from the station. I also have found that sometimes there are open spots on stations but they are blocked? And the app does not tell me this, so I have to go find another station that has open spaces nearby which is pretty inconvenient. I have submitted multiple help requests through the app about these issues, namely the bikes not unlocking or the occasional issue with the bike itself and typically I’ve seen a Bcycle van there within the next 48 hours which is nice.

App goes down all the time. Almost never connects quickly to bikes when it does work.
BETTER TO BUY A BIKE
Paid $30 monthly but my extra charges added up to the same amount in two days because the stations are all so close together in Downtown Redding but no stations across the river so I had to buy a lock to get my groceries. I should’ve bought a bike cuz this pass is fine but not really worth it.
