Difficult FSA/HSA approvals
Benepass was fine for non HSA FSA benefits and reimbursements, ex gym, rewards.
However their team (or whatever ai automation they use) for approving HSA FSA seems incompetent. They don’t review any receipts properly and reject or require a LMN for items/services that are completely covered without one. Ex. 1 Took several submissions of a medical visit having to physically highlight the items on the receipt because they are not actually reading the receipt. Ex. 2 some online items on Amazon/Target etc aren’t labeled as HSA FSA eligible when they should be, Benepass requests a LMN instead of looking up if the item is actually eligible. Obvious items like otc medications, health supplies.

Does not even launch…
When I try to open the app it’s just a flashing white screen and doesn’t do anything.
Completely fallen apart on iPhone 17
I rely on this app for work. I just upgraded to an iPhone 17 (latest OS) and the app doesn’t work. It loads and then after a microsecond the screen just flashes white constantly. Offloaded and reloaded, rebooted phone, all the usual things. It just plain does NOT work on my 17 (web app works, works on my wife’s iPhone 16).

App is lifeline for benefits but never works
This app will not load and unfortunately it’s my only way to access my benefit. Terrible.
Bad experience
Unable to create investing account, stuck on the page with questions about citizenship, button disabled and no error message. Reinstalling app did not help.
No Customer Support
There is no way for me contact customer support to activate my card that does not show up in the app. Ai chat box does not understand this and customer rep replied after 2 days repeating same invalid solutions as the ai. Some how found a number buried deep and the support email they gave is also invalid.

Simply impossible to get anything approved through this platform.
They deny every request, and worse assigned a purchase on the card to the wrong benefit line and you cannot adjust. Terrible.
Worst Reimbursement Timeframe
This is the slowest reimbursement process I’ve ever experienced through my employer. It takes five full business days for them to Approve or deny the reimbursement and then another 3 to 5 for them to send it out once it’s approved. We’re looking at almost 10 days. This is absurd and probably the worst customer service ever.

Most lower star reviews are complaining about things that don’t apply to your account.
Poor customer service
They don’t process the most basic copays and ask you to upload excessive amount of information. There's no way to reach customer service and get reimbursed
Holding my funds hostage!
This app is terrible! I have hundreds of dollars in funds on the card and it continues to decline when I use it. It’s impossible to get human help when you need it. The reply the next day with canned responses. And then I have to go through the very annoying process of being reimbursed for all of the transactions I made on my credit card. It’s a nightmare to say the least!

Benepass has ZERO customer support.
Benepass has ZERO customer support. I submitted two reimbursements they are both account statements. EXACT same format. One was approved. One was rejected. No notes at all. And then it’s like I’m IT: I have to open a ticket for help. No phone number.
Not useful as a app to download and keep
You need an app which can do useful or better things on your phone. Benpass itself may be good but app is not. You can’t even submit receipts when you have it compare to other apps like navia. If you really need to store receipts, just use phone camera and album, app is useless. There is no value addition in this case. It can’t even read amount from receipt

This is for companies that don’t wanna put in the effort to just give their people money that they can also spend anywhere. It’s ridiculous that this even exists. Why pay Benepass to give your employees money, just to make it difficult to spend that specific amount by the end of the month.

Customer Service
Poor customer service. Doesn’t have a number you have to submit a form and they only communicate via email. They send you forms to fill out then tell you the form is not valid for your issue so sorry about that.
Super intuitive!
I really appreciate having accessible, easy to understand information about my employer’s benefits in my pocket - quick way to just check my balance and then swipe my card.
