Meine Empfehlung: Gebt Mark Lauren on Demand eine Chance.

Bring back the YAYOG app

The old YAYOG app was perfect. Just a simple one time purchase and you were able to do a workout. I can no longer download it as it seems to have been delisted from the AppStore. A legacy option would be nice for previous purchasers- if you had the old YAYOG app, you would have access to those workouts without paying. Kind of like what Sworkit did before they went subscription based.

Best Fitness App BY FAR

Bodyweight by Mark Lauren is better than any other fitness program or app I’ve tried ever. Super smart progressions, tons and tons of content for multiple levels, focusses on both mobility and strength with functional, multi-joint movements, has plenty of tutorials but never wastes your time with a bunch of chatter during the workout. Mark works out with you, so all you have to do is press play and follow along- you don’t even have to count! If you pick a program, you won’t have to think about what to do for the next several weeks, then you can just choose your next one. Almost all workouts are an hour or less, and many are half an hour or less. Workouts are enjoyable and interesting, and I’ve learned several new exercises I’ve never even seen before. Extremely efficient and motivating and makes it easy to be consistent. The yearly subscription costs me under $11 a month (CAD!), which is over a $60/month savings compared to my local gym, and I don’t even have to brush my teeth or get dressed to press play and get moving! Highly, highly recommend.

The Best - Just Do It

I’ve tried at least five popular body weight programs, and this is by far the best! I’ve finally found my holy grail. Well organized, intuitive, easy to follow app with a modern and clean aesthetic that keeps track of your progress. Nice, doable progressions. Excellent video tutorials that explain not just the “how” but the “why” to promote strength and prevent injury. Awesome.

Bad app

They removed the yayog app I bought and replaced with this, which is very useless.

Too Much of Nothing

I used Mark Lauren’s previous Bodyweight app for 9 years. I’ve tried to use this new one twice, and I just hate almost everything about it. The old app was simple, effective, direct, and customizable. My grandma once called a word processor a “glorified typewriter.” I guess that’s where I am. I’ll just be using AI generated workouts instead. If you’d bring back the old app I’d buy it again - even a subscription.

crashes

the latest version seems to crash. just hangs on the first screen

Bad reception

Very poor in connectivity even with private data

Just try it!

I have tried many different apps and workout plans over the years and I always end up getting bored and stop doing it. I’ve been consistent since I started this program and I’m so happy that I have. Im currently on week 10 of the prep program. 10 whole weeks of consistency!! I even did my workouts when I was sick!
My eating habits have been back and forth but my body is stronger than it ever has been and I definitely see things changing. My arms are more toned than they have ever been. My partner and I had to move the couch the other day and I normally dread moving furniture.. I didn’t even struggle when we had to tip it up and turn it sideways!! I can’t wait to see how my body changes once I start doing the 1.0 and 2.0 programs!

Needs Developer Attention

$15 a month for an app you have to manually type in your details is a bit steep for an easy developer solution. Then when you’re in the app workouts fail to load and just a blank page sits there (Apple TV). Restarted the app, same result. Turned on VPN, same result. Restarted app with VPN, same result. Cancelling my subscription for an app that I can’t use. Appreciated Mark more when using YAYOG that I purchased for $5 instead of this cash grab version that doesn’t even function. Do better.

Highly Recommend

I have used the Body 2.0, 9 minute workouts and 90 Challenge programs since March and they have helped my mobility on top of the body composition improvements. The app itself works seamlessly with my smart tv, and completed workouts sync back to my phone. I previously used Mark’s YAYOG app and book a decade ago and found this iteration to be a massive improvement on a program that I really like (you don’t need a gym or equipment).

Super

Happy to hear that you’re enjoying the Prep Program!

Great App and Exercise Programming

Programs available for every level (beginner to advanced) in different time blocks (9 minute workouts if you’re busy), the app is helpful for marking days completed and syncs to my smart TV. I’ve been using it for about a year consistently and feel more flexible, look fitter and enjoy the workouts provided. It’s much cheaper than the gym and much more interesting than making it up myself. Thanks Mark & Co!

More modifications please

Mark, like other fitness professionals, seem to forget that everyone is not an athlete. There are seniors like me (61 years old) who have arthritic knees or other joint problems. Kneeling positions are especially problematic. It would be great if more modifications were covered.
Revised: There is no perfect workout app. This is one of the best workout apps without one huge drawback. There are very little, or no modifications offered for the exercises. This is not a problem with the pre-prep and most of prep programs. I am going to use this app and make my own modifications where needed as I advance to more difficult programs.

Sorry to hear that you struggled getting started. The Prep Program and Bodyweight Training 2.0 are approved for use by physical therapist in Germany. They’re extremely safe and effective. There’s just no way we can create custom programs for everyone based on all possible ailments, which are infinite. However, I do interact via the comments and community so you can get custom recommendations. Wishing you the best of luck.

Great program but the app videos aren’t working

I’ve been using YAYOG and Mark Lauren for years and really love the programs. However, for the past 6 weeks the videos on the app won’t download or play. I’ve written to customer service but not received any responses.

Perfect for Busy Dad

I am a father of 4 and a retired military officer. I have been using Mark Lauren for over three years now.

The various programs and exercises are perfect for my schedule, does the planning for me, goes on all trips easily, and at 50 I am in better shape than I was at 25!

It has the approval of my physician and has been amazing at keeping my former physical in check.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Please email support@marklauren.com, so we can help you login or issue a refund.

Horrible Customer Support

Unable to resolve login or membership issues. CS never responds. Continued to be charged due to no cancel option, Finally had to file s claim with bank to block payment.

Great Resource

Great workouts. Demos for movements are exceptional. Large variety of programs and exercises to choose from. Get a workout anywhere, without needing a gym full of equipment.
I’ve researched most of the available apps, this app has more resources, is extremely well developed, and a lot of variety.

I miss YAYOG

This is YAYOG’s successor. YAYOG was very straightforward and easy to follow. This “upgrade” is full of stuff my brain can’t make my body do. Too much emphasis on balance and coordination instead of classic body weight exercises. The video production is too slick for my taste. Looks like soft porn for Chardonnay-swilling suburban moms. Just couldn’t make myself do it.
