The fact that we get to see and hear people that we are allowing access to the building to is very comforting. We are giving access to not only ourselves, but to our neighbors as well.
It is an absolute game changer and has probably been around for a long time. Kudos to Wayfern and double kudos to the incredible team behind ButterflyMX!!

Simplicity
It’s a very simple app to use I’m never fumbling to try and open something and the ability to organize the doors/gates by how much I use them is amazing
Sucks
Internet is down so I can’t even get in. Customer support said I can use my pin. That doesn’t work either. Having the entrance of an office be internet reliable is insane! Especially when the internet is down. What then? I just have to wait outside until the internet comes back on? Not a good system.

Not Working
The app is frustratingly unavailable and has been for a while. I’m unable to create visitor or delivery passes or to update my preferences, settings, or even the app appearance. So odd to have a clunky app in the year 2026.
This is yet another thing that doesn’t need to be an app.
I feel like the over convolution of an app that literally is just used to open. The door is bogus and childish. How is this any better than just giving people a key? Or heck a card with an NFC chip? I don’t care about this company enough to actually care more than this. Don’t waste your time or money on anything adjacent to this app. Goodbye you the fools at butterfly bs

Obnoxiously loud
The visitor access alert repeats its long notification sound SIX TIMES. There is no way to change this. No other app I’ve ever had is this annoying and loud.
Terrible system with awful customer service.
The Butterly system is truly terrible. If you’re considering this for your building literally a padlock on the front door would be better. Concretely, the system is always down. We’ve had it for several months now and I almost never have an experience where it works on the first try. This week the whole system is down and the solution is to “use a pin”. The widgets on iOS are terribly unreliable, you can swipe and they it will show an error and ask you to go into the app. On top of all that, when you contact CS they basically tell you to restart your phone and/or uninstall / reinstall the app. Getting into the building shouldn’t require a complex app or reinstalling an app. That defeats the whole purpose of a security system. Oh it’s also NOT more secure. We still have packages stolen in our building despite the new system. I’m frankly shocked this app has 5 stars based on how buggy and unreliable it is.
