Kokomo Restaurant Pick Up
I was very disappointed with the experience. Our group was picked up in a vehicle that was not adequately prepared for 3 passengers as requested. The front passenger seat was filled with the driver’s personal belongings, forcing all of us to squeeze in to the back seat, which was extremely uncomfortable. At no point did the driver offer to clear the front seat to provide more space.

Cancelled last minute
I scheduled a 2 pm pick up from Manhattan to JFK. They texted me at 1:55 pm stating that the driver is 10 minutes late. At 2:08, they called to cancel due to the lack of drivers. What a waste of time! Still waiting for my credit card refund.
Didn’t show
10 minutes till I’m supposed to be picked up I got a message that they’re running 10 minutes late. At the pick up time I get a message saying oh we couldn’t cover the ride. Sorry you have no ride today.
I will be sure to let everyone I know in Manhattan to not use this service.

Always better than Uber in NYC
Carmel is the best car service in NYC hands down, a true local car powerhouse. I always check them first. The competing ride share apps out of Silicon Valley gouge on price & are notoriously unreliable, with drivers randomly cancelling on you when you really need them to show up. Carmel offers consistent, transparent pricing (no airport rides that are $75 today and $175 a couple days later when you come home!) Carmel’s app is easy to book, they will show up, they charge a reasonable fare and they always give friendly & professional service…you can trust there are real men & women working hard behind the scenes to make Carmel deliver for you. I am delighted to give them my business.

Failed Pickup
I scheduled a ride to the airport with a pick up time of 7:00 am. At 6:53 am, I get a phone call from Carmel telling me that they are canceling my ride because they don’t have a driver. I ended up missing my flight and paid $220 for another ride to the airport. Not good service ! I’m now an EX-Carmel user !

No surge pricing!!
Carmel has always been reliable and doesn’t raise their prices during events like other ride shares.
Bad
Can’t add current trips and can’t delete cc info, can’t even delete account so now I have to suspend a cc just in case.
Setup
Can’t even get a working account authentication code. Not sure I can trust the app for travel if they can’t even get that right
Works but frustrating
Doesn’t keep the most common trips in the favorites, but saves multiple versions of certain trips. Can’t change fields at times, and often have to start over to get either the pick up or drop off correct. Ultimately works but buggy and frustrating.
New York Genie
This guy showed up early, loaded our bags, drove like a genius through Manhattan traffic. Better than a Genie in a bottle. Both thumbs up.
Scammers
Worst customer service!! They literally have zero concept of what that phrase means! Every time you have a reward or a promo code or anything you end up getting scammed out of the discount and then you get the runaround and disconnected and rude people on the phone trying to correct the issue that never gets corrected. I’ve been cheated out of at least $40 and rewards and or promo codes.

I should have refuse to ride …
This was my first experience, among numerous airport trips from Manhattan to JFK, where the driver did not greet me or offer to help with my luggage. He eventually got out of the vehicle, but the first thing he said was that he is not my personal attendant and that I should load my luggage myself. Is this the new standard at Carmel? Worse, he continued to complain, and I had to ask him to stop. I felt deeply offended. I wish I could cancel my prepaid tip.

Worst car service ever
If morons ran the world, they would only use Carmel, which is comprised of clueless liars. Case in point - ‘oh, we are tracking your flight and will have a driver ready.’ Driver admitted they tell customers that but never do. After I called twice to complain about no driver, the Carmel rep lied again and said ‘driver is on his way & will be there in 5 minutes.’ My driver wan’t even contacted until well after she said that. Their drivers are not to blame - the idiots handling the business are. Take a taxi or Uber and save yourself the headache!

If you are Handicap, THEY WILL TURN YOU AWAY!
This is the SECOND time this has happened to me. They don’t have a specification for walkers or wheelchairs in the app. So when I order I put how many luggage’s I have and how many people. They will come and see my grandmothers walker and deny the ride. This time one of their drivers was VERY disrespectful. They told me they didn’t have any more cars so I informed them to cancel it. At first they refused to refund me until I informed them denying someone who is handicap is against ADA. Save yourself the hassle, they claim to be the cheapest but you will find cheaper with way better service.

Last Minute Cancellation
I booked a ride the week before my trip to Kennedy Airport in NYC. Twenty minutes before the scheduled pick up time, I received a phone call canceling my scheduled trip due to a shortage of drivers. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Thank goodness for Uber saving the day.
Need some edits capabilities
Been using Carmel for my US airport pickup but there is no edit buttons if you realised you keyed in the wrong destination. Zero support unless you have US contact number.
