The CATS (NC) Travel Survey app aims to help survey respondents (transit users) record their trips during the survey period - typically 24 hours - while minimizing the phone's battery drain.
This app is a part of a larger transit survey designed to better understand how transit users travel. Participants are recruited at random, primarily during live on-transit interviews. Transit riders that are recruited are able to participate via smartphone, online, or over the phone.
Reason to participate - it is more important than ever for the transit agencies to get input from transit users, so they can better understand their current transportation needs. Understanding where, when, and why people travel is critical for making local area transportation improvements.
