Chatterbug is a very informative source for learning practical German. I’m really happy with the amount of information they give you without making you pay for a subscription.

My favorite app for practicing listening skills
I'm so bummed this app isn't more popular becasue it's the best I've found for improving listening skills! The videos are divided up according to language level and subject matter. Unlike many language-learning apps, the videos cover far more than just travel essentials or recent headlines, but offer a whole kaleidescope of topics that really exposes you to a plethora of vocabulary. One of my main problems with finding listening materials is that beginner-level content can be, frankly, boring (how many times do you want to listen to stories about students traveling around the country, for example?), but these videos are fun and varied, and keep you entertained.
Sadly, they are no longer producing new videos, but there are more videos in the archive than you could pretty much ever finish. I'm recently coming back to this app after a hiatus and am so glad to find it still up and functioning -- I only hope they never stop hosting this app because it's great!

It has lost its appeal
I used to enjoy it a lot. But then they fired all of their video makers and made everything about scheduling very expensive tutorial sessions. You had me, and now you lost me.
Too many problems
I downloaded Chatterbug hoping to find another good resource for my Spanish language learning. At first I thought it was promising, but quickly discovered that it had too many problems for me. I couldn't learn a lot of new things from most content including the higher-level lessons. The Recommended for You videos never change. The sound effects used in some of the shorts are disturbing. The streak checkpoints only work once; if you miss another day, you lose your entire streak for good. The customer service is bad; I reported the Recommended for You and checkpoint issues and neither of them were resolved. The support agent who replied to my feedback about checkpoints was not nice either. Not worth it for me at all.

Perfect!
I love this app so much! I took German for 5 years and didn’t want to lose it so I downloaded this to practice hearing the language spoken fluently. Not only is it INCREDIBLY helpful but it’s also fun. It feels like being on TikTok or watching YouTube videos but in the language ur learning. I can pick videos that talk about German culture and see the difficulty of the vocabulary they’ll use in the videos to know what will be at my level. I wish more people knew about this app

Needs connections to desktop site
I wanted to be able to schedule tutoring sessions, make progress on the lessons, and connect to the live lessons on my phone. I tried out the live streams and they’re kinda silly.

I am pretty much fluent in Spanish, but I want to also learn more Spanish in areas that I may not be familiar with. Your content has touched upon these areas too! I am learning the differences between Latin American and Spaniard Spanish, and new ways to say things!
Each host/language specialist is so fun and engaging, with their own unique personality! You guys make learning a new language exciting! I am loving the Spanish modules, and I will begin learning French as soon as I have completed Spanish :).

That is wonderful for learning German. But I need an option to change the speed of videos. Sometimes videos for me ist too slow.

Effective Language Learning Tool
Chatterbug offers you a unique opportunity to live stream with educators or watch video recordings afterwards. I found Chatterbug an effective app learning German vocabulary from a beginner to fluent levels of understanding. The teachers are very good at presenting new vocabulary based around themes and everyday experiences. I would highly recommend this app if you are interested in developing vocabulary in your target language. Check app to see which languages are offered. Outstanding app!
I signed up for the instruction. All the teachers I’ve had have been very professional and helpful. I just started watching the shorts which are very good, and seem aimed at a beginner to B2 level. Wish they had more c1 instruction but I understand most demand is for beginner to intermediate levels. If they had this for Russian, I’d sign up in a second (hoping they add that!). I highly recommend this app, totally worth the money!

Best language app by a mile
It’s incredibly brilliant, couldn’t fault it. however i really don’t understand how it’s completely free? is there going to be a membership/ subscription fee as there doesn’t seem to be ads.

I downloaded the app. Love it but where are the price selections to choose for this app and how long is the free trial if any? In the setting under subscription it says to contact customer support, no email, no phone number, no way to know. I m i gonna receive an email before they charge my credit card ?

Amazing App to learn
Amazing app to practice any language, very useful, interactive videos and exercises. Very different and great way to make people engage more. The teachers are really passionate and very knowable. Love this app
So far so good!
I decided to try Chatterbug after someone recommended it to me. Thus far I’m really enjoying it. I would love for there to be more intermediate and advanced content with the native speakers peaking at a more natural (faster) pace.
Definitely recommend giving it a go!
