Great app, but adverts need a review

The news content and app itself is great, but the inline adverts are awful. I’m constantly shown pictures of disgusting fungus-covered toenails every single time I use the app. I have no idea why some algorithm thinks I want to see such disgusting imagery, but I think I’ll just start using the website with an ad blocker instead of this app. It’s a real shame, as this shouldn’t be how things are with a serious news app. I think CNA should consider a review of its advert content, as it really is off putting.

Scrolling is buggy

Scrolling is not smooth and jumps around, making reading very annoying

Maybe calm down…

An INSANE level of notifications… i have turned off practically everything and i still get pings every 20 seconds.
They push EVERYTHING. Not even only important/major stuff, but practically every story. It’s annoying as hell.
Either allow better customisation of notifications, or realise that not every story needs to be forced to notification.

IOS notifications not working

Some issues

I found some issues:

1. Scrolling speed inconsistent when menu bars hide on article screen - would prefer menu bars not to hide.
2. Scrolling in settings menu not fluid, the scroll will stop suddenly at the top or bottom

Glitchy for Apple TV

Nice app however it id doesn’t properly work on apple tv. The Gannam Insiders Picks folder do not populate any episodes, so you don’t have access to any of them. The categories - Most Popular and Aired Recently are often dissapears.
I have apple tv with sll updates but this app is glitchy ineed.

They don’t seem to understand that many of us prefer landscape and force you to use portrait mode.

An iPad app without landscape mode, seriously?

I guess the developers don’t really use the app for news consumption.

Deleting the app so that I don’t get redirected to the app for CNA links. Huge pity cos the content is good.

Stuck in profile

The tablet version of this app, if you can even call it that, is basically a giant iPod touch version. It’s stuck in profile mode and even “wide” screen video is presented in profile mode. So if you enjoy really large and black cinematic bars on the top and bottom of your videos, this app is for you.

I guess what they say is true: once you go black, you can’t go back. In this app’s case, it’s for real.

One of my favourite news sources, but app is sadly lacking. No landscape support for iPad means insta delete.

This App Pauses all your other audio

You can’t listen to Spotify and read the news at the same time.

Strange new connected features simply annoying

The latest CNA app now features a green connection status which sporadically pops up indicating, yes you guessed it, when the app is connected. The feature often does this multiple times in a row. The most useless and annoying new feature. Pls fix this.

Where is the landscape mode? More users will flock to this app if it is more usable since the content is already fantastic.

Can’t play music in the background

A lot of news app allow music to be played in the background while using them but not this one. A hindsight perhaps?

a terrible and lousy design - ads handling and no landscape mode

Welcome back to 5 years ago in terms of ease of use:

Ads will disrupt the flow of reading an article by randomly resetting to the top of the article or scrolling you up or down by a few screen pages.

on a tablet it will never display in landscape mode.

CNA has managed to create its latest app as a “dinosaur” version which I hope will become extinct very soon for mankind’s benefit and well-being.

It is sad to see such a failed upgrade in this day and age.

Surely beta testing should have avoided this.

Someone in their IT/digital department should be called to account over this.

Disappointed as CNA content is one that I enjoy but find myself reading less and less as it is too painful a digital experience on both ipad and iphone.

I just deleted it.

Wont load in landscape. iPad Pro on pro keyboard is no fun to navigate sideways. I just read short notifications and ignore. The app.

Only portrait mode

I used to hang my tablet in landscape mode to use the CNA app in reading news and watch the broadcast. After the update, the app remain only in portrait mode although my tablet is in landscape mode. Watching the news also remain in portrait mode even if I maximized the display. Only solution is to take down the table and put it in portrait and then back to landscape. So frustrating.
