Not user friendly

I’ve had a hard time saving information into “lifestyle” and other categories. It’s so confusing

Best one yet

I’ve worked with Train Heroic, and Trainerize. CoachRx is the fastest for program build out, easiest for navigating as well as client contact, and they helped transfer all my data over from both sites. Highly recommend.

Great

The HYROX training feels genuinely personalized instead of being a one-size-fits-all plan, and my coach checks in regularly to adjust workouts based on how I’m progressing while accommodating for my work and races. The communication is great and helps you to stay consistent. Definitely recommend it if you’re training for HYROX or road races.

Works Great, new bug annoying

I have been using this app for well over a year with my Personal Trainer. The last update it asked to verify my age, and ever since that update a white screen flashes up every time I come in and out of the app. It’s not terrible, but it is annoying. Other than that this app has been awesome.

AI bot to write programs?

Overall myself and my clients like the experience on Coachrx. The little details show the thought that’s gone into it.
My complaint is that there is an AI bot that will write your clients programs. This is so disappointing, so misleading and honestly just a joke. If you are unable to write programming for your clients then you shouldn’t be accepting their money. It creates doubt in the coach-client relationship. If I was a client, I would be disappointed to know that my coach *could* be using AI to write my program. I think you should get rid of this feature because by using it you aren’t supporting real coaches who have earned their expertise

So bad and refused to refund

App is so bad and not intuitive. Bad UI, bad customer service. Refused to refund after trial even though I canceled the day of the charge. Terrible app terrible service…

Glitches and no fixes

This app glitches allllllll the time. Sometimes they fix it and the patch lasts for a little while, then just reappears. Most of the time, they don’t fix it and ignore the feedback.

It also frequently crashes and it won’t load. They blame my internet, but all my other apps work!
Super frustrating to use on the client end because we’re stuck with it as long as our coach is using it.
Using the app when it works is good, but it’s nothing special or different than true coach.

Good app

Overall, works well. Needs to show the metrics from the previous workout when you open your daily Rx - that would save time from going back into your history to copy/paste going forward. Maybe add data sites for weight/reps instead of just a text box for notes

Best app on the game :)

Best app for individual design coaches!

Best Coaching App

From Whiteboards and Google Sheets, to FitBot, TrueCoach, and other platforms. CoachRx is and will always be my go to App for high quality coaching.

Request: client content download

New request: client downloadable content with exercise, dates, and all client entered notes for each exercise. Can you create an easy download function for clients to grab all our data? I’d like to analyze faster than swapping across screens and dates and individual exercises.

Previous review from 2025: Love the new visuals that just came out and the swipe ability across exercises during a workout. However now when looking at exercise history you can’t see the past exercises via search, instead it defaults to search by number of rounds and you have to scroll to find the specific exercise. I have a lot of assigned workouts with “5 rounds” and that makes it hard to look at the previous week easily for a specific exercise.

Please bring back search function, or even better, make it possible to search by individual exercise terms by default

Response from developer

The search function is coming in an update very soon.

The Platform That Elevated My Coaching System

I’ve been a personal trainer since 2016 and have tried almost every major training platform. CoachRX is the one I chose.

It’s built for real coaching, not just sets and reps. The assessment system, programming flow, and client education tools let me deliver structured, customized programs in one place.

If you’re serious about professional, high-quality coaching, CoachRX stands out.

Notes section on lifestyle

This is poor design. The save button should be at the top of the screen. You cannot access it on the bottom of the page because of the keyboard opening automatically when you select the note area. It does not let you close the keyboard to select save. Maybe even scrolling up would fix the issue. But notes section does not work for me.

Dommage pas d’usage hors ligne

Pas super pratique dans des salles avec peu de réseau. La sauvegarde de l’entraînement échoue souvent et on perds les notes.

Insane backup sizes

The app is mostly functional and fine however I just checked and it is the source of 19.17GB of iCloud backup. Why on earth is that the case? There is no reason for it to eat so much backup space.

Hire better devs

Needs a fix

You have to add a feature to upload multiple videos at once. The app is fine, but this missing feature makes it infuriating to use

Good app, but doesn’t support HealthKit “fully”

I’m using this app because my trainer uses it. So I’m evaluating it as an end-user, not a subscriber - he’s the one paying for the app, I’m the one using it.

Overall it suits me quite well. My coach sets up a schedule with various exercises each day. I log my results, which he can see of course. I can easily look at my past results for each specific app so I can see, for example, if I’m at a point where I can bump the resistance up and how much. From that standpoint it’s doing a fine job.

Where the app falls short, is no HealthKit integration. Like so many, I use Apple Watch to monitor my activity & historical results. But, I have to open Workouts FIRST - start a “Functional Strength Training - Open” or “Indoor Walk - Open” or “Indoor Cycle - Open” or whatever matches the assigned workout - THEN I can open CoachRX and go through that interface. Cumbersome & unnecessary.

If the coaching app were MY decision - I’d keep looking on this basis. I have no idea how CoachRX’s reporting to the coach differs from other apps - but from the standpoint of the person BEING coached, there’s a big missed opportunity.

Edit Nov 2025: CoachRX now “sort of” supports HealthKit - it’ll READ data from it. But not write. The “benefit” here is that you can share Health data with your coach… sleep, nutrition, heart rate, etc. But what it DOESN’T do, is sync your workouts to Health. Very unfortunate.

There are plenty of apps that WILL sync data to health, and I’m going to have to switch to one of those. Hevy is the one I’m evaluating at the moment. There’s a subscription fee, but it’s worth it to avoid all the complexity at the gym.

Comprehensive + Effective

CoachRX is a very thoroughly designed app that’s constantly evolving and becoming better and better with each version update. The admin is always quick to help and open to feedback on improving the app and adding features for both coaches and clients. Highly recommend!

APPLE PAY

Nowadays a platform like this would not accept Apple Pay is to lose sales all people pay via Apple Pay my customers want to pay via Apple Pay and does not have this option in Coach Rx even if the strepe support Coach Rx does not give this possibility so you have to close and look for another platform

Bugs

Great app… until the finish workout button disappeared with the latest update. This seems very sloppy coding…?!??
